wessex saint Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Obviously NA will be on his way soon so what does NC do? Go for a solid type Premiership manager and give him money in Jan to buy some defenders? Or will he only go for another puppet where he can dictate transfers? For me it's gotta be Mick McCarthy....
Badger Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Don't want to see NA go after his achievements in two years, but I did think he'd make a better job of it in all honesty. May not like the bloke, didn't want him in 2004, but I have questioned for a few weeks now if Hoddle would sort our defence out as he did when he first came in ten years ago.
Thedelldays Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Benitez, Redknapp... someone who has done well in the prem..even if it is just to keep us up as at the mo, we are down (on this path)
RobM Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Benitez, Redknapp... someone who has done well in the prem..even if it is just to keep us up as at the mo, we are down (on this path) Guess that rules McCarthy out then! Shame...
Badger Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 So, if we are looking at the likes of McCarthy and Hoddle, I've got another controversial suggestion : support Adkins !
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 So, if we are looking at the likes of McCarthy and Hoddle, I've got another controversial suggestion : support Adkins ! Only when we are winning, pathetic bunch on here...pray that it is only a minority...
Sheaf Saint Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Benitez, Redknapp... someone who has done well in the prem..even if it is just to keep us up as at the mo, we are down (on this path) No no no no no and no. The day that corrupt, saggy-faced pr1ck ever sets foot in St Marys again is the day I finally turn my back on Saints and on football in general. I honestly can't believe some of our fans actually want him back after last time.
OldNick Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Surely with Reids background it will be Curbishly
Pilchards Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Ole Gunner or Rafa..... Just watched the game today and we gifted West Ham everything, really shocking and I see the confidence is draining from the players minute by minute.
Draino76 Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Anyone that is dead could do better than this.
CWD Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Nigel deserves at least until the end of the season
Monk Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 I'll tell you one thing, if Mick McCarthy ever got involved with Southampton, I would stop supporting Saints.
Sheaf Saint Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 I'll tell you one thing, if Mick McCarthy ever got involved with Southampton, I would stop supporting Saints. Yep, me too. The man is just a born loser.
Asaint4ever Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Let's be honest who's gonna wanna manage us with a so called defence like ours?
wessex saint Posted 20 October, 2012 Author Posted 20 October, 2012 (edited) So, if we are looking at the likes of McCarthy and Hoddle, I've got another controversial suggestion : support Adkins ! The winky thing suggests not serious! Of course I don't want McCarthy! But we need a manager who understands how to get a team to defend!! We're not Barca..we can't play a strategy of 'We'll score more than you' Edited 20 October, 2012 by wessex saint My e keeps sticking
Stepgar Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Nigel deserves at least until the end of the season Too late - If I could see an end to the horrific decisions etc then yeah absolutely, but I cant and I so wish I could.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Cortese Good call..picking the team already apparently
sfc1976 Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Stick with Adkins and it looks like we're going to have to score 3 or 4 goals to win a match. Might as well take a chance with someone else and see if we can get that down to 2.
adrian lord Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Cortese has probably got an Italian on stand-by.
gammon cheeks Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 I really want nigel to do well and he has by getting us to the prem league. But and its a sad but, he isnt good enough for this league . 4 1 to a **** west ham team isnt good enough
OldNick Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 The defence could be sorted short term.there must be players out there to add steel and experience. Curbishly would play the right way
ART Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Come on, let's face it. Neither Stuart Gray or Steve Wigley's management record was as bad as Nigel's in the Premier League. The time for sentiment is over. Nigel can still have a part to play at Saints but we desperately need to bring in someone to take charge of the team, tactics and selections. For me it has to be Redknapp if we want to move forward.
badgerx16 Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 No to McCarthy - he's from the same mould as Warnock. Hoddle ? Redknapp ? Benitez ? Nein danke. I wonder if the Don will pull a curve ball from the continent.
manji Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 If Adkins does get the chop I suspect Cortese will have someone in mind from Europe. Theres no way he would employ Redknapp , Curbishley or McCarthy.
Dazza82 Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Cortese has probably got an Italian on stand-by. Di Canio?
Rebel Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 It's defenders we need - and a defensive midfielder - not a new manager.
monkadill Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Nigel deserves at least until the end of the season Why, FFS today was ****e
badgerx16 Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 I wnder if the Norwich, Reading, QPR, Wigan, and Villa fans are debating the same theme.
Thedelldays Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 I wnder if the Norwich, Reading, QPR, Wigan, and Villa fans are debating the same theme. probably
Rob the Saint Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Personally I would like to see Dave Jones back. He has some unfinished business for sure.
OldNick Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 If Adkins does get the chop I suspect Cortese will have someone in mind from Europe. Theres no way he would employ Redknapp , Curbishley or McCarthy. why not Curbishly? He and Les Reed worked well together at Charlton, with the same football style that NC seems to want
saint77 Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 there not getting battered like we are ,I wnder if the Norwich, Reading, QPR, Wigan, and Villa fans are debating the same theme.
Ally Biggs Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Bring in Redknapp he knows this league and has the capabilities to get players in
RobM Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Personally I would like to see Dave Jones back. He has some unfinished business for sure. How much success has he had in this league though? Is he really a strong enough manager to get more out of our players than Adkins is? IMO, give Adkins the Jan transfer window to right his wrongs and, if we're not already, get our scouts focusing on out-of-contract defenders!
adrian lord Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Di Canio? Crikey - be fireworks if nothing else....
Trader Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Come on, let's face it. Neither Stuart Gray or Steve Wigley's management record was as bad as Nigel's in the Premier League. Saint_Ash Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 Fergie could be in charge and we'd still be where we are, the players aren't performing and letting us down. What manager can improve these shambles? Those saying redknapp, do you really want him to oversee two relegations? Ridiculous suggestion. Agree that it's strange not starting with Lambert and having guly in there though.
S-Clarke Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 I wnder if the Norwich, Reading, QPR, Wigan, and Villa fans are debating the same theme. Yeah, Norwich fans aren't taken by Hughton and a fair few want him gone already. Quite a few QPR fans have had it with Hughes as well, but that's pretty obvious. Reading fans have big question marks over Brian, but Villa fans are quite content with Lambert..at the moment. So predictably, the clubs who are struggling are debating the same.
Thedelldays Posted 20 October, 2012 Posted 20 October, 2012 ok curbishley di canio Redknapp Benitez McLaren
