Rickie on the bench? **** it, I've had enough, Adkins out.

He came off the bench and almost got us a result against the best side in the country. If he's not up to a full prem game, its for Nigel to decide which end of the match he's going to play.

But he is up to it, and he's proved this. The only thinking I have for him dropping Lambert is to try to take advantage of James Collins being a plodder and hoping JRod and Guly can outpace him.

Still, stupid and frankly reckless decision to make in my opinion.

Obviously not, because he has dropped our best player. We base our game around Rickie and the way he holds and distributes the ball. If he doesn't play, we don't play.

Wow. DPS is a football manager who could not only get us promoted two divisions but would have got better results in the PL. Who'd have thought so much talent was being ****ed away pointlessly on Saintsweb?

A baffling team selection. Can only assume Fox and Richardson are injured as Yoshida showed against Fulham he isn't a full back. Guly in for Lambert is a strange one. Looks like a panic selection to me and our bungled transfer window seems to be coming back to haunt us. I hope it works for Adkins.

Ha, I had been warning about complaceny in the transfer window all through the summer as was the year before, which we just got away with !

I think hes going for a mobile side who can pick up the ball when WH lose it regulary (as they will with direct long ball) move quickly and counter attack

Strange selection as we are against a big side, so dropping out biggest threat in the air to the bench makes no sense to me. Still lets see how it pans out before we spit our dummies out.

Can see Yoshida playing right back and Clyne on the left.

So ever manager is always right then and we are always wrong?

No, but when you are right it is down entirely to luck as you never get the chance to see the players in training and don't actually have any concrete knowledge of who the most suitable players are for whatever the match is.

All we can do is judge the manager on results. I agree, the selection is strange, but we'll never know what the result WOULD be if we had started with a different selection etc.

Keep the faith. Like I say all we can do is accept that he's far more qualified to make football managerial decisions than we are and judge him on the results he achieves.

West Ham fans think its hilarious that we've dropped Lambert. He's the player they were worried about.. Plus they are still referring to us as Lambert FC.

Let's hope we are still in the game by time he gets on. Worried for Adkins if this goes wrong.

Guly fit so he must play the saying goes? Bloody strange one just hope SRL comes on and scores a brace!

In that case the plan will have worked to perfection, it's a squad game and Lambert is obviously being held back for late impact.

Maybe he doesn't last 90 minutes at Premier League pace very well.

Brave decision. I would imagine Fat Sam is delighted to see Lambert isn't starting. If it works we will all be saying in 2 hours what a masterstroke it is but if it doesn't......

Could well be that NA gets sacked if we lose and keeps his job if we don't. This is a good side if the plan is as I think it is, up to the players to fulfill their roles now. Starting with the 7 million £ wonderboy.

I agree, but I feel that Adkins has already cost us enough points this season without anymore of his insane decisions. If we get a result today it will probably be more through luck than judgement.

So if we lose it's because Adkins got it wrong. But if we win it's only down to luck.

You're an idiot and the sort of fan we can do without.

A) I said "probably".

B) I just want to know why now we are in the Premiership he is rotating so much and making such bat **** mental decisions. We have never seen this before.

C) How do you know, before the game has even kicked off, whether this is a bad decision?

Spot on. Well said. NA is thinking ahead and looking to the state of WHU in the final half hour. We'll play more on the break first half and JRod has more pace than SLR to cope with that.

I'm only hoping that as Lambert doesn't seem to have more than 60 minutes "premier league pace" in him, that he's being saved to be brought on later on when we seem to ship more goals.

I can see this working ... or am I clutching at straws?

If we defend like we have in most away games this season it will be all over by 60 mins.
