Horton Heath Saint Posted 17 October, 2012 Share Posted 17 October, 2012 What would he think to where we are now! He would be so proud, I can see his grinning face now!!! However, would he have enhanced the 'doings and goings' of Mr Cortese now? We all know the fact that Mr Cortese had the 'cart blanche' under Markus. Would Markus have been more involved now?. Not on the outside, but within?? We had that fiasco with press photographers not bring allowed in the ground, Mr Cortese relented when our football club NAME was not mentioned in 'write ups' in the papers. Car parking charges, programme sellers. This on going ridiculous feud with MLT and Lawrie Mac. Not respecting our history. The awful change to the club strip we have now. We ARE RED AND WHITE STRIPES AND BLACK SHORTS. Saying all this, we don't even know what what Mr Cortese has achieved behind the scenes, a massive amount has been achieved for lots we don't even know about. He has kept everything low to the ground and private within Southampton Football Club. How much of this is are the family of Markus involved with? Wonder what would be, if Markus would be with us now?

docker-p Posted 18 October, 2012 Share Posted 18 October, 2012 I think Marcus would have realised Cortese's behaviour and decisions were harming the reputation of Southampton FC and by association himself, and would have got shot of the Dwarf; replacing him with someone more experienced in running a modern football club. Come on then; give us a list of potential candidates and then explain to us the reasons that the Liebherr family would prefer to deal with any of them rather than with Cortese. Stick to what you know; whinging about the shirts not having the traditional stripes.

ByTheGolacs Posted 19 October, 2012 Share Posted 19 October, 2012 I have no idea, no-one has any idea and I cannot for the life of me see that it adds anything at all to the debate. What we all know - and it is the only FACT we do know - is that Marcus trusted NC implicitly, not only with his little football club, but also with a lot of his business interests and his money. Personally I think NC has made mistakes, but I have never met anyone who actually acheived anything in life who did not make mistakes. I have met loads of people though who like nothing more than carping after the fact that they would have done things differently and saw the 'problem/mistake' coming ages ago............ they normally spend more time moaning and bragging than actually getting on and doing something.
