RonManager Posted 13 October, 2012 Posted 13 October, 2012 Europe here we come http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/fair-play-league-table-131012.html
Dig Dig Posted 13 October, 2012 Posted 13 October, 2012 Interesting to see Stoke rock bottom of the FPL after Pulis' crusade to clean up football
pingwing Posted 13 October, 2012 Posted 13 October, 2012 Why are United so high? They don't show any respect towards the ref...
redder freak Posted 13 October, 2012 Posted 13 October, 2012 Equal top with Arsenal on red and yellow cards and equal top with Everton on positive attacking football. COYRs!
Window Cleaner Posted 13 October, 2012 Posted 13 October, 2012 Perhaps we need a bit more nastiness then, wouldn't go amiss if some of the powder-puff tackles that I've seen are a fair reflexion on our play. It is absolutely ludicrous that a CM has twice as many tackles on the counter as any defender.
norwaysaint Posted 13 October, 2012 Posted 13 October, 2012 The top side from the Premier League's own Fair Play league who have not already qualified for Europe can win a place in the UEFA Europa League first qualifying round. However, for this to happen England must have one of the three highest Fair Play rankings in Europe. This could happen, although we'll probably qualify outright anyway.
Saint86 Posted 13 October, 2012 Posted 13 October, 2012 We won't get into Europe, England have to come top 3 in Europe for that to happen don't they? fat chance. Interesting post though, something to be proud about, we are joint top with everton for positive play
norwaysaint Posted 13 October, 2012 Posted 13 October, 2012 England came 8th last time out, Norway, Finland and the Netherlands got the fair play places for this season. England were second the year before that, with Norway first and Sweden third. Could definitely happen, but way too many variables between now and then.
pingwing Posted 13 October, 2012 Posted 13 October, 2012 That's the one I was thinking about, Fulham got it because Blackpool got relegated that season as well.
Dr Who? Posted 13 October, 2012 Posted 13 October, 2012 We have not midfield ball winner. We need to get stuck in more, and one of the reasons we have let in 20. Lets stay up rather than being top of the fair play.
sandwichsaint Posted 13 October, 2012 Posted 13 October, 2012 Excellent, 'the Southampton Way' expressed in points, and we're pretty good at it based on these figures.
Rebel Posted 14 October, 2012 Posted 14 October, 2012 In another statistics table it says Morgan is joint second in the tackles made table - with 24 just one behind Mark Noble at West Ham - it's our full backs, centre backs and wide midfielders who are the problem.
Avenue Saint Posted 14 October, 2012 Posted 14 October, 2012 In another statistics table it says Morgan is joint second in the tackles made table - with 24 just one behind Mark Noble at West Ham - it's our full backs, centre backs and wide midfielders who are the problem. But then you recall some who said he was just a fancy dan who could not tackle and generally lightweight... Class player in the making.
