saintchris23 Posted 11 October, 2012 Posted 11 October, 2012 Morning all, Does anyone have a couple of tickets available for the game?
saintchris23 Posted 11 October, 2012 Author Posted 11 October, 2012 Trying to help a friend out having just woken up. Effectively opened mouth before thinking! I'm guessing we haven't sold out so ticket office it shall be!
terrasaint Posted 11 October, 2012 Posted 11 October, 2012 Sorry, against who? Dont know, but even allowing for our current form i am reasonably confident that we can beat a bunch of potatoes.
JackanorySFC Posted 11 October, 2012 Posted 11 October, 2012 Sorry, against who? Spurs, our big rivals! Can't wait to sing "who the f*** are Tottenham Hotspurs" at them lol! Also, don't miss out on an opportunity to belt out "are you watching Glen Hoddle"!
Saint Charlie Posted 11 October, 2012 Posted 11 October, 2012 There are still tickets left - not many by the look of it though.
Turkish Posted 11 October, 2012 Posted 11 October, 2012 And that was a proper rivalry, we really did hate them! The sheer vitriol that used to cascade off the stands at the Dell and then St Marys back then was something to behold. It wasn't like the happy clappy atmosphere inside St Mary's these day, back then Tottenham games were filled with venom and hatred. It certainly ruined the careers of Kasey Keller and Neil Sullivan, two top international keepers on the time who never recovered from the verbal batterings they used to take on their visits to the south coast. It was in some ways sad to see grown men mentally breaking down in front of us and almost frightend to make saves in fear of what might await them when they turned to face the baying mob afterwards. Same with the strikers, you almost felt the Robbie Keane and co were too frightend to score, Southampton was a horrible place to be if you were assocaited with spuds (lol) in those days. Meanwhile the Spurs fans brave enough to make the journey south would attempt to slip in and out of St Mary's unnoticed, those that were stupid enough to make themselves known were quickly dealt with and left in no uncertain terms that they weren't welcome.

I remember going away to Highbury and the Saints faithful tried to ingratiate themselves with the Gooners by starting a rendition of "if you all hate Tottenham clap your hands". It was in the extreme. Although quite funny when ex-Spurs man Dave Howells scored the equaliser for us; the anti-Spurs link kind of got forgotten by our lot after that.
Thedelldays Posted 11 October, 2012 Posted 11 October, 2012 Our hatred for spurs got a bit embarrassing... It was like the made up rivalry Brighton tried... And we laughed at

I was in a pub up there and a load of shirters saints fans came in and started singing that, it was so embarassing. Edited 11 October, 2012 by Turkish
Turkish Posted 11 October, 2012 Posted 11 October, 2012 Our hatred for spurs got a bit embarrassing... It was like the made up rivalry Brighton tried... And we laughed at Are you suggesting that our rivalry with with Spurs was similar to the one Bournemouth and Birghton fans tried to invent and we dismissed as being embarassing and being small time from clubs we don't care about?
