doddisalegend Posted 12 October, 2012 Share Posted 12 October, 2012 Of course he doesn't. But people trotting out 1 win from 7 games which takes no account of who those games were against is a little fatuous. Or are we judging our newly promoted team against the top teams in Europe already? I'm willing to bet that we will give all the clubs who have beaten us a far better game when we next face them. But all the games count so there is no point writing games off as no hopers they're still points we didn't get...more to the point we probably deserved something from the games we had no hope in more than the ones people had down as home bankers. At the end of the day points make prizes trying some creative accounting to make things look better than they are makes no sense to me at all. So you think at the start of the season we targeted victories against United, Arsenal and Man City as key to survival?
doddisalegend Posted 12 October, 2012 Share Posted 12 October, 2012 I hope Nigel doesn't use that logic......"don't worry guys it's man U today we're going to lose" Of course he doesn't. So you think at the start of the season we targeted victories against United, Arsenal and Man City as key to survival? make you mind up which is it. I would like to think we target every match as a key to survival....the team management dismissing some games as losses before we have even kicked a ball is stupid and only puts pressure on the team in the games deemed as winnable. The cold hard fact is 4 pts from 21 regardless of who we have played.

The cold hard fact is 4 pts from 21 regardless of who we have played. The cold reality is that against top sides, we can only win if we play to our absoulte best and they don't. If teams like Utd, City, Chelsea etc play to their optimal, we will lose the game. I'm sure the management try to get us to go out and play our game to the best of our ability against top sides but don't bank on that being enough to win the game.
