After seeing all these negative posts and threads, lets look at the positives of this season so far.

For me the positives are:

Gazzaniga showing he is a good goalie at a young age.

Lambert scoring and giving defenders a hard time in this league

Ward-Prowse making the step up to the first team

Puncheon showing great form and skill

Clyne at right back

Schneiderlin being a great PL midfielder.

Ramirez looks to be a class player !

Fonte is back to form !

Davis was a great bargain !

Number 1 should be that after our horrendous fixture set, we are not in the relegation zone.
I'm very much in the Pro-Adkins camp, but let's not get too carried away with the "horrendous fixtures" thing - we've had Wigan, Aston Villa and Fulham at home in a batch of 7 games, that's not too bad by Prem standards for picking up points.

Our programme sellers are now fit birds

we get more column inches in the media

Aston villa at home was fun

We're still in the Milk cup

Rickie is still a legend

There's no pressure as everyone expects us to lose

Andy Crosby is still here

This is a positive thread, HTH.

It's positive for saint lard because there is more chance of him building his anti NA army when we concede goals.

He's like a far right dictator, only appearing during times of crisis, preying on the vulnerable and uneducated.

will it make 50 posts?

some severe padding out and straw clutching needed to do so.

we are on match of the day, which is earlier than the football league show.....yep that's a positive.

- Being able to watch every game live on internet streams is fantastic for an overseas fan like myself.

- We still have some good players to come into the team/squad who will strengthen us (Lee, Cork, Mayuka, Boruc).

- Despite a pretty bad start to the season, there are still 3 worse teams than us!

For me the biggest positive is that we are scoring regulalry and through a variety of players. You can't win games and get points without scoringso you have no chance of staying up if you are having trouble getting goals.

I think it's a positive that our key issue (our defending) is readily identifiable.

The majority of our new players have shown that they are better than what they have replaced and can do a job in the Prem. Gazza v Bart, J-Rod v Barnard, Yoshida v Jaidi, Clyne v Richardson, Davis v Hammond.

Ramirez looks worth what we spent on him.

Mayuka looks exciting and will be a valuable addition to the squad

We have home grown young players pushing for starting positions against leading established Prem teams and holing their own when they are on the pitch.

We do not have the pressure of being in the relegation zone at present

We have a run of fixtures coming up which should give us the opportunity to get our first clean sheet. My guess is it will come at home to Swansea.

I have moved seats to the Kingsland Northam corner where the atmosphere is much better.

The fans at the ground are right behind the team and have given a great ovation at the end regardless of the score.

At times our football has been superb.

It is a great positive that despite obvious issues the fans are still behind the team and mostly behind the manager; we need to really "dig in" as fans and make St Marys a fortress that other teams do not relish playing at as we did at the Dell. IMO

I think if we ran a poll on who we thought was the most obvious skate on a windup on here, I reckon you would come out on top!

By the way, how many threads is it you have had closed now in total?

Sad.

Not in the bottom 3 of the PL

Not having to play the Skates or Brighton or Boscombe or Swindon or Rochdale or Barnsley or ... [fill in the blanks]

We have found a new home for Tommy 4Past

Ramirez looks class

SRL has proved any doubters wrong

We play exciting football again

We have replaced Kelvin and now have 2 keepers who can kick the ball inside the throw-in lines

U18s top of their league

U21s 3rd in a proper reserve league

I think we've started the season OK.

Everyone on here is so so predictable, as soon as the fixtures were announced it was obvious we would be in or around the bottom 3 at the start, 4th from bottom is good at this stage.

We are in the premier league, wow! And we know how to score goals. Just need to sort out defending, collectively, and bobs your auntie.

Actually, four points out of Wigan, Villa and Fulham is something I would expect at this level and if we keep that up against teams of a similar calibre I would expect a lower mid-table finish comfortably. Let's face it, I would not have thought we would get at least a point out of Man City/United and Arsenal, and our record at Goodison Park has always been awful.

the biggest positive for me is our very impressive young signings, and our youth prospects coming through or just finally getting to shine at thus level.

provided we stay up this year, which I think we will, and replace the dead weight, this squad is destined for great things.
