Adkins post match conference

He observed what most of us observed...we pressed very high up the pitch in the first half but sat back in the second.

If the manager wants his players to do the same again in the second half why do the players come out and completely ignore him...?

Lack of confidence maybe?

In the second half, I didn't exactly notice him leaping out of his seat and screaming at his players not to play so deep.

He is probably not living up to NC's expectations and he's feeling the pressure.

This is one we were expected to win but it never happened and so he will have to explain why,tbh trying to explain away the reasons for taking lambert and puncheon off is going to be a bit uncomfortable for him.

Yeah why the fook dd he take, SRL, our best player off?

Is the opinion on Adkins starting to change amoungst the fans? Up until the last couple of games everyone has been behind the manager and there has been a lot of goodwill but now people are beginging to question his decisions.

Not mine. Good manager, hindered by what he has available to him and the injuries which have crippled our squad in the last week or 2.

I don't disagree, he didn't get what he wanted during the transfer window. £30m spent and basically a championship side out there today. It just seems to be me the first sounds of discontent with Adkins are coming out from some fans.

It's still the same messag from me. Too much emphasis was paid to forward players when keeper and defence were so obviously more pressing. We won't progress while we have to play Fox (abysmal) or Jos (now realising he is out of his depth). What worries me is that the midfield has no urgency, and even players like Puncheon seemingly had no real desire to actually run at what was a woeful Fulham team. Lallana looks like a luxury. Ramirez greatly missed.

The buck stops with the Manager - and who knows whether he did not get what he wanted from the Transfer window. Adkins style will not change - S****horpe was the same Gung-ho approach and they conceded goals for fun.. just like we are in the Premier. His substitute decisons today were woeful - however many chances Lambert missed today, he is our one potent force up front.

I fear NA is on borrowed time..

Understandable discontent I'd say as so far he's made a raft of avoidable mistakes. That said, I'd keep him as he'll be boss again next season in the NPC.

He's been given a 30m squad boost during the summer and isnt delivering.

Not surprising he is feeling the pressure.

My only pushback to that is how much of that is HIS choice. If rumours are to be true, gaston was nc (albeit, a good one). But how much of the others were na.

We should bring in decent defensive coach, it could be as good as a new signing if they get it right?

Great stat this: Southampton have now dropped 11 points from winning positions in the PL this season, the most in the division by far (Opta)

To be fair, nine Of those have come against United, City and Everton so a bit of a skewed stat. As for a defensive coach, what does 'Crozzer' do then? He's a former centre half.

We had plenty of key players missing today. If we had a full strength side we would have won easy. Man up you bedwetters ! Watched a big chunk of the Newcastle Manure game and Newcastle werent in it. Dont forget we nearly did United. We havnt turned schitt overnight.

Yes, because Fulham didn't have any players out either, did they?

Adkins will be a very good manager and has done a great job to get us where we are, IMO he needs someone he can turn to upstairs or in his backroom team who knows the prem.

Who though? The obvious thing would be to bring in a Director of Football, but isn't that what Les Reid is meant to be?

Les Reid might be part of the problem, failed manager sticking his oar in.

Well, It hasn't been the problem over the last 2 years. I think with a tough start, questions are being asked - but sometimes people can look too deep for problems, which aren't really there.

To be blunt and straight to the point, certain players in our 11 are not good enough. That's it. Nothing more sinister than that..!

Sorry Clarke... I think it is more than that..

Wgs got players just as bad to out perform themselves and set up the team . Accordingly.... And he would drop players regardless who they were

Pretty sure we'd have won if Ramirez has played. So there's room for optimism. Just have to see what happens won't we.

I think we'd have won if Richardson hadn't got injured. Yoshida was awful at right back, not his fault he was playing out of position but Fulham targeted that second half. As for Hooliveld, he simply isn't good enough. He's a top man but not a top player.

There is something missing in the general spirit of the squad this season, all is not happy. NA is beginning to take on a haunted, dead man walking countenance.

The manager states that there is a good spirit, those players that do interviews, state they are as one with each other, yet you, and a few others on here, who have no connections with either, maintain that all is not well. Whilst I agree you are entitled to an opinion, is has no basis, and as a fan, you should be behind the team and manager.

All in my humble opinion of course.

They would say that wouldn't they? I am behind them, but not duped by PR guff on the official site and carefully chosen, on-message player interviewees.

Hopefully Adkins is annoyed that we just didn't play proper football for most the game, the team is good enough if we just play properly. We were pushed into playing long ball because every time we passed the ball it ended up at Punch how fell over.

Frustrating that we are a lot better than we played today, when we pass and move like we did attacking city, united and villa we will be fine in the prem. If we hoof like Fulham did today we are in trouble there aren't enough spaces in the prem for teams playing nonsense football like that
