Saints v West Ham build up

Sorry I thought you were referring to the team duh not Adkins future. Yes I agree Cortese wouldn't be a happy chappy and would have his finger on the trigger. I like Adkins as a person but I feel he has made big mistakes this season, how important do you think it is that we have a manager with premiership experience? Right now it feels as if this is a steep learning curve for Adkins and unfortunately you don't get a honeymoon period in the premiership to adapt to what's needed.

listening to his pre-match interview gives you the impression that NA is committed to "attractive football" at all costs. Now whether that's his credo or club policy I just couldn't say. However if he sees entertaining the fans as more important that winning (or even not losing) then I feel for his future in one of the world's toughest leagues. Cos at the end of the day losing is never particularly entertaining, I'd prefer winning ugly to losing pretty, at least when there's relegation as an eventuality at the end of the season. We can play pretty next season, this season is about survival and nothing more.

The thing is when attractive passing football fails does he actually have a plan b? Does he know how to play direct? Can he learn from dire substitution decisions? I'm beginning to think the answers no

Hell - I really need us to do a job today and sneak a crafty win - I'm meeting a mate who's a Wetsham supporter for a beer to watch the game and I cannot bear to think about the abuse I will receive if we leak goals.

I'm out in London with 8 of them tonight....I'm contemplating not going out if we lose heavily.

If we could name a Full Strength side I'd fancy our chances.

Haven't really been taking any notice of WHU's form so far but see they steam rollered Fulham earlier but haven't played anybody of note except Arsenal which they lost.

I think we can expect a bit of a aeriel and physical battering - they have conceded most fouls and have most bookings.

Worrying Cole has completed least successful passes in Prem League so should be nailed on for a hatrick today then!!

Played FIFA 13 West Ham verses Southampton on a rare day of beer drinking and football watching.

Granted FIFA isn’t the most realistic predictor, however we lost 5-2 star man for West Ham was Diame, with saints being Mayuka who came on for the last 15 and scored a screamer.

Hope this was useful in someway.

Regards

BBC Sport's Nabil Hassan: "Arrived at Upton Park. Got a hunch Artur Boruc could make his first appearance for #saintsfc. Could be a shock elsewhere in the team."

Fills me with dread that statement as the only real "shock in the team" in my eyes would be dropping Lallana or Lambert.

I know you're just being facetious' date=' but he made more impact coming off the bench than he would have starting IMO. And we're not playing a team as good as City today. We'll see anyway.[/quote']

Genius, put our best player on the bench. Must have learnt that one from Branfoot, dropping Le Tissier was pure genius.

I don't think Adkins would be daft enough to drop Lambert.

If he drops lambert and we lose Adkins can do one.

Spot on. I think adkins is trying to be too clever in this league and in danger of making himself look

Like a mug. I don't think he'd drop

Lambert for this as for defending corners etc he's as good as anyone defending.

Should have benched him all the games then

Christ.he is our best player, big game player, top scorer, best technique, hero,talisman....you name it, Richie is it for us

Bench at west ham when holding the ball up is vital..

His defending of set pieces is also brilliant

If we get well beat then Nigel is asking for trouble

@officialsaints: Saints team: Boruc, Clyne, Fonte, Hooiveld, Yoshida, Schneiderlin, S. Davis, Lallana ©, Puncheon, Rodriguez, Guly. #saintsfc

Abstract is about all you can say about it. Yoshi ain't great at left back but he's still better than our number 1 left back who we failed to replace last summer, recruiter hang your head in shame.
