Sheaf Saint Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Why the hell did we wait until we were 2-1 down before we started playing!? So infuriating. Fulham were poor and there for the taking, and we nearly gave it to them on a plate.

LaptopSaint Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Rescued a point, but if another team comes to SMS this season and plays that badly we really have to take all three. Pity Rickie didn't have his shooting boots on firs half today.
Nexstar Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Looking at the injuries we had to deal with a draw is a decent result. Although the subs were a little surprising I thought Chappers and Guly both put in good shifts. Fonte seems to have grown as the season has moved on, whereas Hooiveld seems to have gone backwards. Like the look of Gazza and he played some nice balls out. J-Rod is wasteful with chances and I just don't think he's ready for the Prem yet. Ohio Saint Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Poor result against a sh*te Fulham side. This is not working. Changes required. Changes were made already due to injuries. With Clyne and Ramirez we would have won. Quite disappointing though considering the first half, it's a shame that Jos is being a liability because I like him. Stepgar Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Poor result against a sh*te Fulham side. This is not working. Changes required. Two rubbish teams there today. Draw written all over it. What changes would you suggest. Our first and second choice RB injured, Jos had to go for the ball as if he hadn't he would have got a bollocking if it had crept in or someone stole in behind. Kingsbridge Saint Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Adkins has been great for us, and was unlucky to lose Ramirez and Clyne today, but taking off your best two attacking players at home against a side there for the taking is a direct route to a P45 if it doesn't come off. Davis and Schneiderlin were both hopeless today, both of them have the first touch of a camel and repeatedly gave the ball away. We have to sort out the pub defending too. Hooiveld is becoming a liability.
Joneth Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Missed opportunity, but at least we got a point in the end after completely blowing an extremely winnable game against a very average Fulham. Adkins substitutions really didn't help, we really needed Rickie that last 20 minutes. Rodriguez looked better up front than out wide but missed his big chance. Jos, again. We really need to be winning games like that. We are definitely in a relegation battle.

badgerx16 Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Should have been won by half-time, midfield were missing for large parts of the second 45.Don't think you can actually blame Jos for the goals, but somewhere on his summer holiday he must have wiped out a whole flock of albatrosses: 2 pens and 2 OGs so far this season. Ewell Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 I would have taken a point before the game as Fulham have been playing well but without two of there better players this year they were there for the taking today. Poor decision to take Lambert off so early again, despite not having one of his better games he was still miles more of a threat than Rodriguez. Nice to see Gully come on and play well. I am usually Fox's biggest critic but he had a good game as did Davis and Morgan in midfield, but man of the match Jose Fonte and that has bugger all to do with the 2 goals he was immense at the back. JPTCount Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 a draws probably fair given the performances. we were shocking second half till the 85th minute. bringing his on was a mistake imo, should have gone taken a chance with Reeves or chaplow and left Maya in the middle. and if anyone was curious, that string of passing on the first half totaled 30 passes. jus a shame we waited and then wasted possession with a long ball. and clattenberg is an awful ref. stknowle Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Well done Jose, may have saved your gaffer. 2 goals each for our centre backs. Saint Scott Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Setting aside the two goals he scored Jose looked a lot more assured at the back today. He kept Rodellega at bay basically all game. Yoshi was terrible out of position or not and Jos was very shaky when he came on and scored yet more OG's. As a group we looked a lot better, closed in packs and positioning was much better. Im disappointed with a draw but a loss would of been completely unjust.

Redondo Saint Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Great first half and a pleasure to watch. What happened to the 2nd half? Fulham gained more confidence and we fell apart. Mr_Red Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Again not sure about the substitutions... It was like Man Utd all over again. Puncheon was doing pretty well when on the ball and put in some decent challenges too. Ricky may have been knackered so not completely surprised by that one. Fox is a decent player when on the ball and put some decent balls into the box... But both of their goals came from crosses on his side. I think Lallana leaves him exposed so not just his fault, talking of which I hardly noticed Adam in the second half. I was watching on a poor stream so may have missed some bits but for me Jay put in a good shift, Schneiderlin was our best player, Gazza pretty good in goal, Puncheon good and I suppose Fonte deserves a mention too, goals and a few good challenges when covering for Jos. Yoshida not in his comfort zone so unfair to say he played poorly, not sure how much better Richardson would have done in any case. Jos was worrying though, think I prefer Fonte which goes against those saying we was the weak link from our first few matches. Really need to up our game anyway, Fulham were there for the taking. Travelling Saint Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Didn't make sense taking Rickie or Punch off, 1-0 up why change unless injuried or tired which they weren't. Our defending is poor, they panic for to often and all run to the ball in the box leaving so much space. Midfield looked alot better and gave the defence so protection for a change. Stepgar Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Punch would have come off because he wasn't protecting Yoshida. Just before he came off he was twice at fault for losing the ball and not tracking back. He just laid on the floor looking for a fouls that was never coming. saintfully Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 Positives - Fonte looking good at the back again, Gazza capable, Chaplow and especially Guly did well on as subs. Negatives - Jos obvs. and yoshi didn't look as assured as he has done - theres just not enough composure at the moment at the back... does my head in; injuries - as has already been said, Gaston would have murdered them. Finally, J-rod continues not to impress.... Still, we're fourth from bottom.
max_saints Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 should have gotten the 3 points against a poor fulham side but for defensive mistakes again! we need clyne back and move yoshi back in central. thought fox did okay defensive wise and his delivery from set pieces were wonderful. never understood the complaints about NA's substitutions in past games till today, totally took off our attacking threats and forced us to sit deeper and deeper without the likes of Lambert and punch holding the ball up front. NA needs to stop doing that and realize its not compulsory to make all three subs. if it ain't broke don't fix it. btw gazza is looking better with every game, think its going to be a while before boruc breaks into the first team

Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 7 October, 2012 Share Posted 7 October, 2012 I hate the fact that we are now playing our best player out of position to accommodate an NPC striker.
