COYR_CHEF Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 He has looked quick and promising in his few sub appearances so far this season, Is it time to start him against Fulham and give him more than 12 minutes to do his thing? Will also give Lambo a bit more pace to lay off to and try spread their defense? I for one wanna see him start.. Not sure it will happen though..
pingwing Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Not just yet, ultimate impact sub, what SHTEEVE should be.... Give him a few more weeks training and we see if we can work a RW sort of role out of him (get him to work the odd cross), if we see them then he'll start, if we don't he'll be the super sub.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 If he started, who would he replace? Lallana - the captain? Ramirez - our best player? Play him on the right where he's not played before? Can't see it myself.

COYR_CHEF Posted 7 October, 2012 Author Posted 7 October, 2012 Oh, and the fact that whatever we are doing at the moment isn't working.. So u know.. Hence why we try something different..
shurlock Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Oh, and the fact that whatever we are doing at the moment isn't working.. So u know.. Hence why we try something different.. I'd start him- is an easy upgrade on Rodriguez. If Ramirez is out, we're going to need a bit more guile. And whoever comes in for Ramirez will probably offer more defensively, giving us greater scope to play Mayuka.

He does his fair share of tracking back and defensive duties.

sammysaint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 If the rumours of gaston being injured is true, then i would say he deserves his chance today, his movement and pace is something you cant teach, his shooting and touch are yet to be seen if there good enough for the prem, but you can teach that/ practise that. Hopefully the gaston rumours are not true and we can use Mayuka as a impact sub, i like that we can bring on someone with that pace and movement with 20-25 mins to go and let him run most of that time at full speed.

I wouldn't start him. If Ramirez is out I'd like to see RL played a little deeper and JR up top. Like you I would like to see him used as an impact sub.
S-Clarke Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Mayuka is still carrying a knock, believe it or not. We're riddled at the mo.
Lets B Avenue Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Mayuka is still carrying a knock, believe it or not. We're riddled at the mo. thats "competition for places" for you. They are kicking lumps out of each other.
