kwsaint Posted 6 October, 2012 Posted 6 October, 2012 I've got (and enjoyed very much) a book called Southampton Cult Heroes which is about Saints players who have gained "cult" status. Who would you put on your list? I think i'd go with: 1. Franny 2. MLT 3. Moran
sambosa75 Posted 6 October, 2012 Posted 6 October, 2012 Pretty sure theauthor of the book is a regular, well known poster on here. For me, its CMFG.
Badger Posted 6 October, 2012 Posted 6 October, 2012 Other than the obvious Channon, and MLT my cult heroes have been those who have been solid performers who give their all without necessarily being spectacular: John McGrath Jim Steele Ivan Golac Mark Dennis (Probably my all time favourite back four !)
vince Posted 6 October, 2012 Posted 6 October, 2012 There are plenty of candidates from every era, but I recently re-read the entry for Nick Holmes from that book, and he very much deserves his place in that list.
carljack Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 ahem... Eric Martin Joe Kirkup Brian Oneil and Big Ronnie D
ibizasaint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Frank Worthington would def be on my list..... had amazing skills and always looked like he had had 10 pints the night before and had just got up. Bet he smoked roll ups at half time.
SO5 4BW Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Jimmy Case. Among keepers Eric Martin and Kelvin Davis
rednrednredandwhite Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 First one for me Brian Oneil, latest would be Kelv
