Patrick Bateman Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 Having not seen the Academy teams for years - what defenders are there in there (apart from Shaw) that look promising?
pingwing Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 Boruc looking for fitness as well as Shaw coming back from illness is good. Still amused at the thought of Mugabi commanding our back line... (want him to get good in the future for a chant about him being a dictator)
trousers Posted 1 October, 2012 Author Posted 1 October, 2012 We're losing 1-0. Bring back Kelvin Davis!
Saint Garrett Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 Sounds like Mugabi is dictating play at the moment...
Nexstar Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 Why do they play a team away from home and then at home again a few days later? Or am I getting the development squads and U21s mixed up?
Lighthouse Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 Sounds like Mugabi is dictating play at the moment... If his team mates haven't given him the nickname 'Bob' I will be severely disappointed.
norwaysaint Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 If his team mates haven't given him the nickname 'Bob' I will be severely disappointed. Surely his nickname is Butthead?
Turkish Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 Sounds like Mugabi is dictating play at the moment... It's been an imperious performance.
Matthew Le God Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 Why do they play a team away from home and then at home again a few days later? Or am I getting the development squads and U21s mixed up? The development squad and under 21's are the same thing. I think you might be confusing them with the under 18's who played Stoke on Saturday.
Nexstar Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 The development squad and under 21's are the same thing. I think you might be confusing them with the under 18's who played Stoke on Saturday. Cheers. Find it strange they play the same teams just a few days apart and at the opposite side's ground.
Matthew Le God Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 Cheers. Find it strange they play the same teams just a few days apart and at the opposite side's ground. It is the under 16's and under 18's that have the fixtures against the same opponents on the same day. The under 16's, under 18's and under 21's are all in the same league structure as a category one academy. The age groups below under 16's aren't. Generally under 18/under 16 games are on Saturday morning/early afternoon. Saints under 21's play during the week so that players can be used from the first team more easily.
Lighthouse Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 Surely his nickname is Butthead? Robert Butthead. Has a good ring to it IMO, rolls off the tongue.
