Dangermouth Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 Probably noted before, but do other managers just take on board what NA says and copy him or is there now a 'manager's phrase book'? Latest to hear from a few players/managers is 'don't get too high when we win, too low when we lose'. Others are the now ubiquitous use of the word 'credit' and talking about the game being about the group, not the individual. Have heard others, but more and more I keep hearing NA-speak when he's not there.
Saint_clark Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 Quick bit of time reversal and you're OK. Continue.
sotonjoe Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 He just says the same things over and over again tbf. It's a bit embarrassing and I hope he has something a bit more inspirational when it comes to team talks.
gonzo Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 FFS It's Atkins Ummmmm, no it isn't. Check the Saints website, BBC Sport, Sky Sports or even Wikipedia if you don't believe me. Unless you're thinking of ex-Northampton manager Ian Atkins??
Cheese on Toast Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 Ummmmm, no it isn't. Check the Saints website, BBC Sport, Sky Sports or even Wikipedia if you don't believe me. gonzo Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 I know you muppet. It was a joke because the person who did the Original post spelt it wrong initially... Well, that isn't too obvious now as he's amended it. But, I am a muppet. I'd have to be with a name like Gonzo
Cheese on Toast Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 Well, that isn't too obvious now as he's amended it. Well it was pretty obvious for anyone who saw the original thread because everyone was commenting corrected him, so he deleted the thread But, I am a muppet. I'd have to be with a name like Gonzo Yes, that was the joke.

Cheese on Toast Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 Well, I didn't see the original post so the joke was lost on me! Ok Gonzo, you're forgiven, just this once.
Cheese on Toast Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 Let's just draw a blue line under this whole thread

Bearsy Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 I'm tired of him banging on bout his Sun Tzu or whatever. I think he's taking it too literal. Like in Chapter 6 where Sun Tzu is saying "A wise man does not defend the flanks, he plays an extra striker instead." I mean Sun Tzu is probably quite smart or whatever, but when he wrote that he hadn't seen Frazer Richardson play fullback.
Cheese on Toast Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 Thou must spend £6m on a striker and play him out of position He knows his stuff
Dalek2003 Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 I think Atkins needs to come up with some blue sky thinking.
theyin Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 He needs a corporate teambuilding weekend away clicheometer each time he's in front of one of those sponsor boards.
The Kraken Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 he's certainly finding it tough so far in the Barclays Premier League.
Saint Samuel Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 Some of my favourite phrases from Nige. Keep chipping away Control the controllables Hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard Listen...
doggface Posted 1 October, 2012 Posted 1 October, 2012 I like nige, but he is boring to listen to. I knew that if we lost alot more games this season it would become grating and start to **** people off.
Miltonroader07 Posted 2 October, 2012 Posted 2 October, 2012 I think NA talks a good game but it is what happens on the pitch that matters and thus far it aint good enough
the saint in winchester Posted 2 October, 2012 Posted 2 October, 2012 Nigel Adkins - Adele Adkins' dad! We're ready for Skyfall!
sambosa75 Posted 3 October, 2012 Posted 3 October, 2012 I think NA talks a good game but it is what happens on the pitch that matters and thus far it aint good enough 2 promotions in his 2.5 years at the club? What more do you want?
