at the alarming rate we are shipping goals..and continue with gung-ho set ups...we will go down as it is..simple as that

we could have a decent NPC team with what we have

Gazza

Clyne/Richardson

Fonte

Yoshida

Fox

Puncheon (unless he has another hissy fit)

JWP

Cork

NEW Player

Sharp

Rodriguez

I think

Ramirez

Lambert

Lallana

Morgan

Clyne (maybe)

Puncheon (maybe)

S Davis

will all be gone

I think adkins will be gone

and the manager will be Les Reed

with Cortese as director of football

Tdd was the one who was saying all summer that our fans wouldnt be able to handle losing a lot of games this season and would start to panic very early in the season. Now look at him!

haha...fair point.

I think I am stunned at our complete lack of defensive understanding....

no matter who we got in during the summer (realistically) in defence...the set up of the team is staggering with how open and gung-ho we are..it paid off last week...but losing 5 out of six..and shipping an average of 3 goals a game is highly alarming

With everton, Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City in that group of 6 fixtures, I'm not massively surprised at our return.

Wigan is the one game that bugs me.

that is a fair point..but we can't just write off games against everyone in the top 6 or 8...we are going to have to beat one of these and draw a couple.....every team that stays up will cause an upset.....so far, we are shipping at LEAST 3 a game against them...and we are just nor learning and STILL going for it....

fulham..are what..6th at the mo...will that be the reason IF we don't beat them next week...then spurs up soon after...will that be written off..?

west ham away is going to be hugely tough too....

going into november with 3 points will be very very poor (i don't think that will happen but that does mean it won't)

You have to consider the opposition we've played so far though. We've faced a lot of the very best players in the league.

We're a young team who don't sit back and look to win games in a positive way. When we don't have to play the top top sides almost every week the teams around us won't often be able to handle us going forwards. Despite shipping three yesterday, we could have got 3 ourselves and not many teams around us would have a chance of doing that at Goodison.

We have some brilliant forward players, we will always concede against the top sides, most will. I think we'll be fine.

I think we'll sneak a surprise one along the line, but we'll need that certain side to have a serious off day. We're not even close to competing with that level of sides yet, not down to our quality, but our inexperience. I said in another thread that I think our squad could be a late developer this season and we could end up having a terrific 2nd half of the season, as we defiantly have the quality it's just the youthful inexperience that's costing us (and that's players, and at times, management).

Luckily for us, I think Norwich and Reading are equally as **** but have less of a potent attack about them, so I think we'll still be in touch come January. They've also accumulated less (or equal) points with a seriously easier run of fixtures than ours.

Have I missed something? Isn't it only September (just, granted) still and only six league games played? Yet we now have a thread to discuss our Championship starting lineup for next season?

TDD, I had thought you were one of the more level headed posters around.
