Keep the Faith

Think how far we have come in the last couple of years, from playing the likes of Dagenham to be mixing it with the top teams in The Premiership.

People will argue we have come this far too soon, maybe spending a couple of seasons in The Championship and building from there would have been better.

I for one would rather be where we are now.

We have a fantastic football club now, the structure has never been better.

We have a bright young manager, he needs all our support.

We'll be ok.

Keep the Faith!

As I said, think we have have done massive over the last few years.

Think of those dark days, Rupert PLC crap, no investment, because there was nothing coming in to invest into PLC.

All those guys wrecked this club. With massive salaries paying the board, Sir Clive Woodward, his clony Simon whatever his name, then bought in Harry and his gang, Bond, Smith with our beloved Rofe, how much did that lot cost?

He made huge mistakes appointing Stuart Gray, Steve Wigley {who i both saw walking the streets together in Bishops Waltham having a laugh together last year, both still live local) I didn't find anything to laugh about. Appoint Paul Sturrock from the the third division, done well at Plymouth. Excuse me, we are Premiership.

Guess I should have seen the signs.

The club was losing huge amounts of money, the salaries were way too high, the plc were raking the club with no thought whatsoever, lining their pockets, Wiseman etc. This all continued I guess, when Michael Wilde smelt a rat. Or, I will become very popular when I offer a couple of million quid to oust Rupert and be the saviour, hero and be popular. He was!! Trouble was, he had enough money to oust Rupert and be the biggest shareholder, but alas that's all he had along with enough money to give to George Burley to have one 'crack at it'. **** or bust.

We never made it at the last hurdle, losing to Derby on pens play off.

If we made it to the Premiership, Wilde thought the floodgates would open, alas not.

He invested every penny just to get us there, salaries were being payed to his board to run the club and find investors as he did not have the finance there on.

He almost pulled it off I guess.

But could you imagine him trying to be were we are now, don't think so. It would never had happened.

Re enter Rupert.....another story. Dark days.

I love it where we are now compared to those dark days.

What the hell has 2 years ago got to do with our present situation......if my auntie had a cock she would be my uncle.

The problem is we are not 'mixing it' with the top teams,we are rolling over and letting them tickle our nuts because of bad team selections and stupid tactics.

Besides we have been told to expect champions league football so now I want it,or was that championship football?

Anyway,I always keep the faith,I'm just not sure that they are able to repay the faith I have in them.

Much as I try to trust that Adkins and the players we have will see us ok this season it's this phrase that really irritates me. I know it's probably irrational and could have something to do with connotations of unquestioning religious fervour but I do wish that those of us who like to promote an inner well-being could come up with something else.

I'd be happy with "chin up" or "stiff upper lip" or even "don't panic". It's probably just me but, there, I've had my say and I feel better for it.

I'm afraid this post is head in the sand. Today, Saints were awful. We looked like a Championship side, and I'm afraid that Nigel's tactics were all wrong. You can blame the defence as much as you like, but Everton had acres of space in midfield at times....acres. I am normally quite optimistic, but that performance depressed me because the tactical and on-pitch errors were so very basic. Of course there was some neat football, but if you get blasted 3-1, 6-1, then what's the point? Even Ramirez was poor today. Nigel deserves time, but I'm not sure he is going to get it.

heard s good bit on the radio earlier when talking about us..

saying we have played well in most games and really dont have the points to show for our efforts..and mentioned the particularly tough start.

however, they did say that that cant go on for much longer...the tough start is no more and we cant continue to be plucky saints and just get praise for our play and not points.....also, the danger of defeat after defeat having on the team, no matter how positive the manager is..as we are not even close to giving a team ago (bar villa and man u)...just play good football....

after that, they said we are certainties for the drop unless we alter the way we play...as too many teams in this league have players that will punish our "openness"

I couldn't give a sh.it about being in the PL, In fact, it's fair to say that it's an over rated pile of steaming turd.

Sh.it atmosphere, "modern" fans, sh.it KO times, crazy prices and over hyped media boll.oxs.

Sooner we are out of this pile of w.ank league the better.

You are right,it is all of that but the hard truth is that this is where the money is and that is why NC got us here,so I would imagine he wants us to stay here regardless of what your take on it is.
