Crouchie Crouchie Posted 29 September, 2012 Share Posted 29 September, 2012 We're still above the bottom 3 We have had a tough start and have an easier run of games in the next 2 months Ramirez - what a player can only get better Norwich, QPR and Reading are **** poor Everton will give most teams a beating
Window Cleaner Posted 29 September, 2012 Share Posted 29 September, 2012 Everton will give most teams a beating Until they pick up a load of injuries and suspensions, then they'll get hammered by Norwich and Reading. Good team, poor squad.
Matthew Le God Posted 29 September, 2012 Share Posted 29 September, 2012 We only have to play Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd and Everton once more this season in the league (with only one of those games being away).
S-Clarke Posted 29 September, 2012 Share Posted 29 September, 2012 We're not in the relegation zone, and we've had the hardest start to the season compared to any other team. That has to be a huge positive, I just hope the players don't lose too much confidence
Born In The 80s Posted 29 September, 2012 Share Posted 29 September, 2012 The huge positive from the opening few games of this season is that we have players in the squad who can score goals. We have 3 genuine match winners in Lallana, Lambert and Ramirez. We all know that defensively we need to be more compact, but we have the attacking to game to match the vast majority of teams in this division. I have faith that defensively we will improve as the season goes on.

Dr Who? Posted 29 September, 2012 Share Posted 29 September, 2012 As just pointed out, there are many points to be had in October, shed loads in November, and quite good in December. Really do think we will take teams apart at home in some games.
Lighthouse Posted 29 September, 2012 Share Posted 29 September, 2012 Reading, Norwich and QPR are absolute garbage and we might well be able to add Villa and Wigan to that list as the season goes on. Saints are not, we've just been outplayed by 4 better teams and put in a naive display against Wigan. ANY other league in Europe and Everton would be in the Champions League more often than not. Seaside Saint 2 Posted 29 September, 2012 Share Posted 29 September, 2012 Major positive for me is how bad some of the other teams have been. Before the start of the season I thought we would struggle mainly because the league looked so much stronger this year, but there are around half a dozen other teams who already look like they will be spending most of their time around the relegation zone. If we can beat most of them home and away I think we should be ok.
Saintandy666 Posted 29 September, 2012 Share Posted 29 September, 2012 We score against teams that other so called weaker teams struggle to do Our attack is without doubt premier league class. I think we are capable of scoring against pretty much any team in this league and that is good. However, our defence lacks.
Gambol2K9 Posted 30 September, 2012 Share Posted 30 September, 2012 I completly take the positives but as a team our defending is abysmal. Needs addressing.
Stud mark of doom Posted 30 September, 2012 Share Posted 30 September, 2012 Just need a centre back and a left back in January and we will be comfortable mid table. What are Calum davenport and Olivier Bernard up to?
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 30 September, 2012 Share Posted 30 September, 2012 We let in 50% less goals than our last away much. Improving.

Mowgli Posted 1 October, 2012 Share Posted 1 October, 2012 The January transfer window is a week closer. I have no doubt that we will see some movement in January. Nigel's task until then is to keep the squad believing in the way that they are playing and to stop making silly mistakes. Thankfully, I have not seen heads drop and can honestly see us getting stronger as the season goes on.

sotonian Posted 1 October, 2012 Share Posted 1 October, 2012 I'm sure we will are better than at least 3 other teams and I believe if we start taking the league cup more serious where others don't, we could end the season staying up and a wembley appearance, which for me would mean an awesome first season back in the prem

david in sweden Posted 3 October, 2012 Share Posted 3 October, 2012 given the fact that we have a surplus (though not unecessarily so) ....of strikers and midfielders........getting the goalie situation settled and buying in extra defenders is the main priority. Survival will follow, as long as we keep scoring..and keep a low GD.
