RobM Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 The more I look at it, the more it looks like a really good Championship starting lineup, rather than a Prem lineup.
Badger Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Is Tadanari Lee ever going to play football ever again, or what? He's our Japanese 'Latvian Michael Owen'.
rudi7s Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 How do we know its 4-4-2?? Could quite easily be the 4-5-1/4-4-1-1/4-3-3 we've played all year
washsaint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Hopefully very, very wrong but that starting lineup does not fill me with confidence in any way. Both full backs are very poor, the midfield seems very lightweight - hopefully they will tear Fulham a new one and prove me wrong!
Badger Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 The more I look at it, the more it looks like a really good Championship starting lineup, rather than a Prem lineup. Thought the same, especially about our defence. At least we have Mayuka as an impact sub. ...oh and Guly to come off the bench.
Thedelldays Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Still... We have to win.. Without berbatov and petric, they don't look that good
Cheese on Toast Posted 7 October, 2012 Author Posted 7 October, 2012 Not too bad if we're playing 4-4-2, if we're playing rodriguez out of position... it's not going to be pretty
Avenue Saint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Is Tadanari Lee ever going to play football ever again, or what? He will be back and no doubt a valuable player as season progresses. Apart from a centre back and left back, I still reckon we have a pretty strong squad. Bring a fully fit Boruc in, Clyne, corky, ram and lee back, that's a pretty good looking, quality squad
Cheese on Toast Posted 7 October, 2012 Author Posted 7 October, 2012 No Ramirez today then? Wassup? Someone's not been paying attention
RobM Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 How do we know its 4-4-2?? Could quite easily be the 4-5-1/4-4-1-1/4-3-3 we've played all year Two holding midfielders, two midfielders who typically play wide and two strikers... it's got to be 4-4-2, surely? To make it anything but that, we'd have to play JRod and Punch as wingers with Lallana in the hole.
Ohio Saint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Someone's not been paying attention Sorry, I've only just got outa bed.
rudi7s Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Two holding midfielders, two midfielders who typically play wide and two strikers... it's got to be 4-4-2, surely? To make it anything but that, we'd have to play JRod and Punch as wingers with Lallana in the hole. Which we did first game of the season IIRC, and Adkins wanted Adam in that 'hole' all pre-season.
Badger Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Not too bad if we're playing 4-4-2, if we're playing rodriguez out of position... it's not going to be pretty An opportunity for Rodriguez to show he's a £6m striker, although he may be played as a £6m square peg in a round hole. In many ways I think Mayuka might have given us more attacking options, but its a chance for JR to seize. Defence worries me though, especially with this 77 yr record for Fulham to overturn.
CanadaSaint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 So that's what happened at the training ground. No kidding. And two impact injuries by the sound of it FFS. Jeez, we've hurt more of our own than we've hurt opponents this year.
suewhistle Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Just arriving at the away ground for our game, so at least i won't get stressed out by the match day thread. If you think saints fullbacks are bad... Back later, need to concentrate. Cheer me up saints!
