supersonic Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Do we have a list of the injuries? We know Ramirez, Cork are out. I've heard people saying Clyne, Morgan and maybe Hooiveld too?
Shroppie Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Cork is the only one confirmed by Saints. Seems to be enough detail to suggest Gaston is out. Morgan 50/50 - probably sub. Hope we don't have to rush him back. Haven't heard anything about Clyne, Jos. Rumours Lee could be back, at least as sub.
Turkish Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 according to BBC stats. Fulham haven't won a League game against Saints in .....77 years, let's hope they don't start now .... I was at Craven Cottage when they beat us 2-1 under Strachan, so that is wrong.
musesaint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Jesus.... A quick review of the above has totally runined my Sunday morning FFS! They all better be fully fit by the time I get to SMS at 13.30 - or I'll suffer a masssifffffff decline
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 If we don't beat Fulham today I worry for us, one of the worst travellers in the league.
Lets B Avenue Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 I was at Craven Cottage when they beat us 2-1 under Strachan, so that is wrong. And I was at Craven Cottage in 1966 when they beat us 3-1. Allan Clarke scored. Also 2004 they beat us 1-0, whilst Wigley was supposedly in charge.
View From The Top Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 It sounds dramatic but these are the sort of games we must win at home if we are to stay up.
Turkish Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 It sounds dramatic but these are the sort of games we must win at home if we are to stay up. I fully agree. Fulham are nothing special and it's these sort of games you look back on at the end of the season if you do go down as ones where we should have picked up points.
Legod Third Coming Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 It sounds dramatic but these are the sort of games we must win at home if we are to stay up. A touch too dramatic. We need 40 points. Possibly less. They can come from anywhere. For 27 years of my supporting life we lost to teams like Fulham, Bolton, Blackburn, Luton, Brighton, Villa, Sunderland and worse. And beat the Champions. We could do with a win today for sure - for confidence and because we need a fortress. But today won't decide anything alone. Keep calm and carry on
Appy Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 How pointless are the stats about how long they haven't won here? Completely irrelevant.

Keep calm and carry on Having already lost to Wigan that is one should win game already gone. We probably need 10 wins at home and then try to pick up 10 points away. I would say today is absolutely one that we should be winning as we will do well to get a point against Spurs in our next one. If we don't win today it's one win from our first five home games and we'd probably then need to win nine from our next fourteen.

Fulham are nothing special and it's these sort of games you look back on at the end of the season if you do go down as ones where we should have picked up points. Totally agree. we need to come out the blocks from the off. they are beatable and we need 3 points in the bag. if this turns into another wiganesque performance Adkins needs to look at himself and his future needs to be under serious scrutiny. i do hope it does not come to that however. 3-1 Saints with my optimistic hat on. defeat is not worth contemplating. such an important game even though it is early in the season. perhaps the 'we have had terrible fixtures' thing can be put to bed after today. and if we were to lose I wager some numpty will trot out' look where we were 2 seasons ago' bollix.
beatlesaint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 I suppose if Gaston is out we will keep Jay Rod in the team, playing out of position again !!
Cheese on Toast Posted 7 October, 2012 Author Posted 7 October, 2012 I suppose if Gaston is out we will keep Jay Rod in the team, playing out of position again !! I'd have mayuka instead
the wedge Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 If we don't win this then we don't deserve to stay in the Premier League.
Pilchards Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Gazza Richardson Fonte Mushi Clyne Puncheon Prowse Lallana Davis Jrod Lambert. Spider on the bench.
Aura Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 If we don't win this then we don't deserve to stay in the Premier League. Give Fulham some respect there not complete walkovers.
Roger Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 I suppose if Gaston is out we will keep Jay Rod in the team, playing out of position again !! Jrod played up front last week with lambert So don't think so. I reckon mayuka will play. Hooilveld will play and Fonte out. With Morgan and Ramirez we will struggle. Even if we win it's not as pleasing to watch on the eye without gaston
Cheese on Toast Posted 7 October, 2012 Author Posted 7 October, 2012 If we don't win this then we don't deserve to stay in the Premier League. Fulham aren't a bad team. If this was agains QPR or Norwich or someone... I'd agree with you
supersonic Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Mayuka needs to start up front with Lambert IMO. Fulhams defence lacks pace, Mayuka has pace to burn. Lambert may well struggle v Hangeland in the air, but Mayuka will, hopefully, use his pace in behind

Cheese on Toast Posted 7 October, 2012 Author Posted 7 October, 2012 They are one of the worst teams away from home in the league, so I disagree. Oh I didnt realise how poor they are away... I take it back then
S-Clarke Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 They are one of the worst teams away from home in the league, so I disagree. Dangerous team though, full of PL quality. Much better than Wigan in that respect, and they have a hell of a lot more about them than Villa. Will be very, very tough today.
Turkish Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 They are one of the worst teams away from home in the league, so I disagree. Id we lose is Adkins one tactical mistake closer to his threshold?
Cheese on Toast Posted 7 October, 2012 Author Posted 7 October, 2012 Sky Sports News saying Cork is our only injury
kpturner Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Sky Sports News saying Cork is our only injuryWTF do they know?
sfcuk fan Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 If we lose is Adkins one tactical mistake closer to his threshold? No, but you are now one post closer to achieving your full drama queen qualification :-) .
Turkish Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 No, but you are now one post closer to achieving your full drama queen qualification :-) . Eh? I was asking a question to the bloke that started the 'how many tactic mistakes is Adkins allowed?' thread?
rick1976.4.38 Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 just to put the 77 years since fulham have beaten us,it is at saintstheyve not beaten us, not at fulham
mulletsaint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 So that's what happened at the training ground. One of the pitches collapsed injuring half of the first team squad.
Turkish Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 So that's what happened at the training ground. One of the pitches collapsed injuring half of the first team squad. Funny how we were talking about Harchester United only the other day, it's the sort of thing that happens to them.
Cheese on Toast Posted 7 October, 2012 Author Posted 7 October, 2012 When will we get some team news?
Saint-Armstrong Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 When will we get some team news? 10 mins
Avenue Saint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Gone 442 I think. Clyne out, shame. Morgan starts, good.
Cheese on Toast Posted 7 October, 2012 Author Posted 7 October, 2012 Saints team v Fulham: Gazzaniga, Richardson, Fonte, Yoshida, Fox, Puncheon, S. Davis, Schneiderlin, Lallana ©, Lambert, Rodriguez. Subs: K. Davis (GK), Hooiveld, Ward-Prowse, Guly, Mayuka, Chaplow, Reeves.
gjphilsaint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 sadly with those full backs it looks like saints ar once again are there for the taking...
trousers Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Boruc not playing. Not even on the bench. Odd?
trousers Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Is Tadanari Lee ever going to play football ever again, or what?
trousers Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 @officialsaints: Three changes for Saints as Gast?n Ram?rez and Nathaniel Clyne each miss out with a dead leg. Morgan Schneiderlin returns. #saintsfc
gjphilsaint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Rodallega enough said.. Wigan all over again!l
RobM Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Is Clyne injured? Must be to miss out completely, since he's been one of our brighter players this year. (edit - saw the confirmation tweet as I submitted this post) Does look like 4-4-2 though and definitely more defensive, but at lest we might see what JRod can do up front. Hopefully he plays just ahead of Rickie.
InvictaSaint Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 No berbatov for them which is good. No Petric either.
Stepgar Posted 7 October, 2012 Posted 7 October, 2012 Clyne and gaston out with dead legs. Hopefully be back for the next game.
