Saints v Fulham Build Up

Cheese on Toast

Lack of respect for a good Fulham side I think. Whether we need to win games like this depends on our expectations and how we get on generally against the bottom 10. I see teams like Fulham and West Brom giving us competitive games home and away, but equally we could win home or away. All about taking chances on the day, remaining calm and patience, and a little bit of luck.

Funny to think a win here and we'll be doing fine really. Especially for a team guaranteed relegation and completely written off in the first month by its own superfans.

This is just it. 6 points after the run of games we've had would actually be a good start to the season. Apathy though is the tool of the devil, but from what I've seen so far, we have a sublime attack now that Ramirez has come in and started well and, as well as being at home, I can see a scoreline similar to the Villa game. Fulham aren't a bad team, but while they adjust to life without Dembele and Dempsey, they're there for the taking. A few goals better on the goal difference would be nice too. We've been working on the defence apparently, so we wait with bated breath to see if it's worked.

I don't see a draw in this game. Either we'll play sublime football and smash them, or we'll end up with a Wiganesque result. I hope it's the former.

Just saw we are playing tomorrow and not today:blush:

For a first I am agreeing with Lawro, think we will get our first clean sheet of the season, 2-0.

Line up should be:

------------- Gazza ------------

Richardson ---- Fonte --- Yoshida --- Clyne

------- JWP -------- Davis --------

Puncheon ----- Ramirez -------- Lallana

--------- Lambert -----------

Subs: Davis, Hooiveld, Mayuka, Schneiderlin, Rodriquez, Guly, Reeves.

Would be a huge ask for Shaw to come in and have his prem debut on a 'must win game'. Also if Schneiderlin isn't fit, why risk him.

JWP isn't a bad player he can do a job in there as can Fox.

The risk to start with Gazza a fortnight ago for an even bigger must win game shows NA has balls, serious balls.

With today's results..... Wigan and reading giving away points..... We have a real chance to nudge further up the league....

We have a real chance now until end November to score some good points

I have been saying this for a while now, that by the end of November we will see plenty more points on the board. Hopefully this place will not be so negative.

Fox is a 'bad' player !!!! Of that there is no doubt!

No, he isn't. He just isn't a Premier League player.

I would stick with Clyne / Richardson again, as at least we have experienced defenders in those positions.

Am looking forward to this game as I think We'l bounce back and Beat Fulham 3-1 I hope with goals from

Lambert, Lalanna and Ramirez-(?!)/Schneiderlin-(?!) for Saints and Rodallega/Sidwell for Fulham

But We'l See!!!

As long as Saints give it a Good Go then I will be Happy and a Win would be a Bonus too But We'l See...!!!

I think this will be our first draw of the season 2-2. However, I can also see this being a hard game and with some key players out, Fulham will be no pushover - far from it - so it could end up 1-3.

IF we lose, then I do fear for Adkins position - while winning became a habit last season, it could equally be said that a losing mentality may be starting to set-in to the players minds and if that's true then managerial change could become an inevitable consequence. There are experienced top Managers waiting in the wings for a pop at keeping us up I suspect. It's probably true to say the decision will rest on the nature of the defeat (if it happens) rather than the actual result itself - i.e. another game lost due to conceding late or tactical substitutions going horribly wrong.

Supporters must guard against getting into a loss expectation habit
