I think I just heard on the radio that Adam Lallana became a father on Wednesday. I saw "think" as I was leaving the room as it was mentioned, I've not seen it anywhere else, so I hope I'm not making it up.

How can ANYONE below the age of 75 be named Arthur!?

Don't get me wrong, cool name to switch to as a 70-year-old as it'd make you sound all grand and sh*t. But bloody hell in Primary School!?

It's fashionable fella. Arthur, Charlie, Alfie, Frank, Harry, Henry & Jack. All old school names and also names of kids I know.

All cracking names as well.

However, he seems sick of the added attention as it seems he's closed his twitter account.

EDIT; nevermind, just seen the thread from a while ago.

What's Lallanas father called? I get the feeling there may be a tradition about naming the males something beginning with A.

His dad is quite well known on the local Freemasonry circuit - pretty sure his name isn't Arthur, but can't remember what it actually is.

Maybe it's time for Arthur to make a come-back.

Names come and go - when I was a kid no-one was called Thomas, Henry or Oliver and there were no Darren's, Bradley's or Shane's, either. It was all David, John, Peter and Stephen.

Definitely David. He's in the same Masons lodge as someone I used to work with.

Why pick on 75? I only met one in my whole life although isn't HRH Bonnie Price Charlie an Arthur? As you've never heard of it probably means you're a working class bloke unused to the choices of the upper crust.

Just in case you hadn't spotted it they don't use Daren, Wayne or Adam to name their offspring....

How's his other half going along?

I'm guessing she's a little stretched at the moment..

Congratulations to Adam and Emily...my first grandchild due in December will hopefully have the privilege of watching Arthur's Saints debut :):)
