Girl on this Morning who ran off with a Maths teacher!! What is it about them?!! :lol::lol:

 

about 10-12 years ago I charged and convicted a teacher from a school near Portsmouth after they slept with an underage pupil.

 

Must be the same person that you charged. Just showed her "missing" thing on the telly. She ran away from home in Portsmouth in 2000 and was in a relationship with a 32 year old maths teacher.

There was a debate on radio 5 with some of them saying because she was almost sixteen then was it okay. How is this ever acceptable? Even if she was over 16 it's still an abuse of power. Some might argue that you can't help how you feel but how can a man in his 30s let himself get in that sort of a situation in the first place? She's a child FFS.

 

Agreed - it's a gross abuse of power and he knows full well what he's doing. She's impressionable (as all kids are) and he really can give her the world at the moment. I mean, come on, I was looking at some kids who are going to Uni, they look like children and sound like children and they're 18. (I'm 36)

 

It's not acceptable and it is wrong as it's manipulating a kid.

What is 'impressive' is that they have managed to avoid any detection for over a week. Bar the images of both of them on the ferry there has been no concrete sighting (apart from some random women in The Sun). He is obviously not using a credit/debit card as the companies would be able to track the use of the card. They don't have their mobiles as they were confiscated by police, ironically if they did have them, they would have been caught by now - can track them.

There was a documentary about him on TV in the late 80's when he was shown to indulging in rather "strange" training practices. Shortly after, he got a brick through the window of his house (Townhill Park, I think).

Yep, he used to live not far from me. He also came to our school with Danny Wallace and gave a talk on Saints and being a pro footballer at school assembly. I dont remember if he was ever found guilty of anything but there were lots of rumours and im sure he was charged with something.

in theory yes but only some old chestnut about sexual exploitation of a minor by use of authority conferred by his function..Age of consent is 15 here.

There was a situation at my school where there were strong rumours a teacher was sh**ing a student. She lived on my road. A week or two after she left school his car was on her driveway every day. Makes it quite clear that it was going on for a while.

I'd imagine all he can get done with is kidnapping as she's not likely to admit they slept together.

Aside from that, I saw a piece about their tweets to each other and one of her messages to him was apologising about the night before saying that she felt embarrassed and that she "had a bad headache", so perhaps the reason they went to France was because she wouldn't go through with it here.

 

And while we're sharing stories, there was a music teacher in my old school who got caught having a relationship with a 15 year old boy and ran off the premises when the head of year tried kicking ten bells of sh*t out of him. Not sure what ever came of that, I'll have a look.

The age of constent in Mexico is 12, they should have just gone there. Maybe flights were too expensive.

 

There must be some backwater places that don't even have an age of consent...

Its not such a huge deal imo. Yes he's a bit of a slimeball, its a breach of trust and he should lose his job - but national media coverage, shock and outrage, calls for long prison terms, really?

 

From her point of view her first serious romance was with an older boyfriend, they ran away together and had a a fling in hotels in France. I bet she regrets that less in 20 years time than her school friends who lose their viginity to 15 year old Dwayne in a 20 second fumble and squirt by the recycling bins at Sainsburys.

At my school, in the late 70's, our geography teacher was having relations with our Head Girl whilst she was 15. He used to walk her home every night in full view of the whole school. This type of thing is nothing new. I don't condone his behaviour, but the Media really have conducted a witch-hunt. The lynch mob will get there way, no doubt, and his life will be ruined forever. However, he does have himself to blame. Meanwhile, Jimmy Saville was lauded by all and sundry?

So then enlighten me, why did they feel the need to run away, he could have just carried on boinking her on the quiet wherever it is they originate from. Why France and not Venezuela or something, wouldn't have been found in Venezuela.Sounds like a jolly ruse to rouster some cash from the media to me, so British..a bit skint, do something stupid, the media will give you money for telling them about it.

well if he's in the nick it would tend to suggest that it's not all that simple. Then again if you want to lie low you don't want to be a wandering round shopping centres in Bordeaux. You could hang about in my village for a decade and few would take any notice. Lord Lucan could be mayor here, no one would give a toss.

I see. I was just thinking, Billie Piper was about 15 when she had her first hit. I was of a similar age, so my endless masturbation whilst watching her music videos was fine. But then that Chris Evans came along, didn't he? And I think they got together while she was still VERY young and eventually married (and divorced). So what I'm asking here is, is Chris Evans a paedophile and if not, why is Jimmy Saville or this teacher? Is the real problem with the trust side of it and the fact that the man was in a position of responsibility. When Billie Pipers parents gave Evans their blessing, they were basically saying "we give you permission to abuse our daughter as long as you further her career". No parent would make the same deal for an A grade at GCSE maths.

Surely he was arrested on suspicion of 'abducting a minor'? You cant 'kidnap' anyone who goes with you willingly.
