Colinjb Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 If we are to have a league cup run lets make it as painless as possible. Bradford at home. Actually, if it's on the week of the 8th October, make it away, i'll be in Halifax with work that week.
Matthew Le God Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 Bradford at home. This. I find it hard to understand why anyone would want anything other than the weakest team left in the competition at St Mary's. Saints have a reasonable chance of winning the League Cup this year, so the easiest route to the final please. Rather than another trip to the Emirates/Old Trafford etc, we could have a European tour next season for you all to enjoy.

An away trip to Malta in the qualifying rounds v Sliema Wanderers/Floriana then would be excellent.
Bucks Saint Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 Bradford for me. Or, better still in the unlikely event that they squeeze through tonight, Reading away. 15 mins away for me, plus we can have an early chance to get some bragging rights firmly back
SNSUN Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 Aston Villa at St Mary's. Well we've already proved we can **** them. :-)
doddisalegend Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 Coventry at SMS becuase then Arsenal won't be in the cup anymore .....
trousers Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 Bradford at home. Not because its the easiest tie but I have a Bradford supporting mate so a good night out to be had.
Saintandy666 Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 I second that. Someone really underwhelming like Bradford or Swindon at home.
Colinjb Posted 26 September, 2012 Author Posted 26 September, 2012 I second that. Someone really underwhelming like Bradford or Swindon at home. Not Swindon, they would really fancy it.
Thedelldays Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 bradford at home.....failing that, anyone at home bar chelsea, man u, arsenal
Hatch Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 Easiest team at home, with their best players either suspended or injured.
yorkie Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 From a purely selfish view - Bradford or Leeds, then again Donnie might pull off a shock tonight at Norwich! An away gtame would be nice to give me a chance of going - can't see there being a great demand for tickets for this competiton in the middle of the week in October! If we want to test ourselves now we have GAston and Yoshida - what about another crack at Man U at SMS?
fanimal Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 I imagine if it were the winners of QPR/Reading we will have a sell out away following!!
Saintandy666 Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 Not Swindon, they would really fancy it. True that. Bradford it is then!
Gemmel Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 The last sixteen of any cup starts to get intresting - One win away from a quarter final and we all start secretly dreaming, (whilst dismissing it on message boards as not important etc.) Nice easy home draw..........
Sour Mash Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 (edited) The game will be played on Wednesday the 31st as we're at home to Spurs on the Sunday before. Edited 26 September, 2012 by Sour Mash
Miltonroader07 Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 From someone who does not want to be in the comp.... Man City AWAY................. oh but we might win that. Leeds away then
Thedelldays Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 watching the WBA v Liverpool game on the net...liverpool are a disgrace
Golden Balls Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 Easy game. So Liverpool home or away is fine
saint lard Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 Easy home tie please,if not,Liverpool at home......which is much the same
Saintandy666 Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 Leeds away. Won't be easy. Especially given our strategy of playing the B team. Still, got to be positive. It's a winnable game.
SNSUN Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 Very loseable. Still, in this cup, if we win, we say we have a great chance of winning it, and if we lose, we say it's a silly tossy cup and we're better off out of it. I still think it's dependant on what form each club is in going into the game. Even using the back up players, if we've won a couple more league games by then, the spirit around the club should inspire the back up boys to victory.
RonManager Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 Kelvin must play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dark Munster Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 i am expecting to get Leeds away though
