mcjwills Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 If you are not in a hurry to get away Ratcliffe Road Garage or one of the parking places in Ratcliffe Road will cost you about a fiver.

Thanks for Info, need to get away quite quick, I suppose it depends on attendance tonight as to how busy on the roads
Hamwic Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 St. Mary's Road is about 10 minutes walk to the ground and convenient for the Northam/Kingslands stands.
The Cat Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 There will be hardly anyone there tonight so you'll have no trouble getting away quick. Dunno about parking though as I come from the East of the city and walk over the Itchen Bridge from Woolston.
trousers Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 I usually park in the small outdoor car park next to Charlotte Place (Jurys Inn) car park. 10 minute walk to the stadium from there.

scotty Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 I always use the East Street multistorey. Well-lit, secure and cheap. About 10-15 mins walk from the stadium.

Dunno about parking though as I come from the East of the city and walk over the Itchen Bridge from Woolston. I'm quite tempted by this option, looks like a 20 minute walk and then beat most of the traffic after the game, we've driven over the bridge before the last 2 home games. What's the parking like in Woolston? Pubs? That big one right on the bridge looks fairly Saints related? Anybody else (hundreds!) get caught up in that M3 business on Saturday? We sat in the Charlotte Place car park total gridlock for 15 minutes then did a right turn back down towards the ground and went out to the M27/A3. My phone had the M3 down as shut till 8.00pm. Don't know how accurate that was?
Tokyo-Saint Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 My sat nav has live traffic otherwise I would have gone straight into it. Was able to go down Hill lane and then A31 so was able to miss it luckily.
Toomer Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 Solent Uni car park in Chapel Road near St Marys church 5 mins walk £5.00.
Saint Lindford Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 Industrial estate by old Meridian studios, its free and about a 10 min to ground.
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 You could try the industrial estate (Centurion Park?) just the other side of the Northam Bridge. Always plenty of spaces, no charge and doesn't take much time to get out onto the main road.
Shroppie Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 For evening games I park on the street opposite the Alex, just off London Road. Free after 6pm, 15 min walk and a quick getaway.

Golden Balls Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 Loads of parking in Ocean Village as it's free after 6. Less than a 10 min walk.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 I used to park there, until they started clamping. Clamping is illegal now so I guess this is ok? Anyone confirm?

Don't know how accurate that was? Yep, motorcycle accident apparently. We too took forever to get out of the short road leading up to Charlotte Place. Ended up sticking with it but took about an hour in total to get from car park to start of M3. Then came of at Winchester and headed up the A31. Home by 7. scotty Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 (edited) I used to park there, until they started clamping. That has either just been outlawed, or is about to be. Was in the news recently. edit, its due in november. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-19700641 Edited 25 September, 2012 by scotty

Don't know how accurate that was? There's loads of street parking in Woolston. Some of it is permits only but that's only a small bit near the bridge. I normally park in Radstock Road but you can drive down Garton Road by Woolston Station and park right by the bridge for free. Best to turn your car around before you park though as it's a dead end and generally gets full up the nearer to kick off you get anf can be a pain to turn around if you are back swiftly. As for pubs the big one is called the Bridge and is definitely Saints. There's not really any other pubs around that bit of Woolston for some reason. SNSUN Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 (edited) I always use the East Street multistorey. Well-lit, secure and cheap. About 10-15 mins walk from the stadium. Me too, though it's not the easiest car park to get in or out of on foot - one set of slippery stairs or the ramp to the car park. It is well located though, good for The Royal Oak for a pre-match bevvy, and it's free to park after 6pm iirc. EDIT: Lime Street's the one I meant...
