TopGun Posted 24 September, 2012 Share Posted 24 September, 2012 Saints definitely did the right thing giving him the boot. He's been nicked loads of times now. Heading straight to clink before long. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-19697940
Saint_clark Posted 24 September, 2012 Share Posted 24 September, 2012 So much for being a reformed character.
Saintandy666 Posted 24 September, 2012 Share Posted 24 September, 2012 Can't even remember him! I do think the Saints academy is good at bringing through players with the right attitude though. I can't think of too many troublemakers that have come through there recently, ignoring Nathan Dyer's antics.
Saint Charlie Posted 24 September, 2012 Share Posted 24 September, 2012 He had (has?) the potential to be a really good striker as well. Total waste of talent.
John Boy Saint Posted 24 September, 2012 Share Posted 24 September, 2012 Seems a bit like that lad that Wet Spam took off Man Utd can't think of his name, talent to burn with the football world potentially at his feet, Fergie persevered with him but gave up in the end: apparently the silly whatsit was still hanging around with his old mates and still going out on mugging sprees with them and getting caught too!!! Bit like everytime you see Glen Johnson: what went through your mind when you stole that toilet seat from B&Q
Dellman Posted 24 September, 2012 Share Posted 24 September, 2012 The Dyer thing was stupid, crass and wrong but not violent, neither was it repetitive; there's a very big difference.
farawaysaint Posted 24 September, 2012 Share Posted 24 September, 2012 I was dissapointed when we let him go seems the coaches at the academy made the right choice though. A short summary of prior charges courtesy of wikipedia. "In 2006, at the age of 15, he was sentenced to 11 weeks in a young offenders institute after being convicted of participating in a series of armed mugging incidents in Muswell Hill, London. On 27 August 2011 he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a man in Newcastle city centre leaving the victim unconscious in the street. In October 2011 he was charged with being drunk and disorderly in Newcastle's Cathedral Square. The charge came only days after Ranger had been reinstated to Newcastle United's first-team training after a three-month exile in the club's reserves. In March 2012 he was convicted of being drunk and disorderly and was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £135 costs. Prior to this, in May 2011 Ranger was questioned by Newcastle after posing with a replica gun in a photograph. The gun was later handed in. In March 2012, he was fined by The FA for making homophobic comments on social networking website Twitter. Later in the month he was arrested once more, this time for breaching terms of his bail whilst awaiting trial on four assault charges." What a tremendous jackass. Ravel Morrison, on loan at Birmingham. Another waste of talent like Ranger, Barton (to a certain extent), King etc
