Why have we only taken an "initial" allocation when we'll easily sell 3000?

Stung from the Man City game, I expect, by taking (and having to pay for) the full allocation in the misguided belief that we'd still have 3000 people willing to part with £50 for a game that's on Sky.

See how the land lies in terms of how quickly we shift the first batch of tickets and get the rest after that. SFC ticket office in unbelievable "sensible ticket policy" shock

Like the Arsenal game, if you're a season ticket holder and you want a ticket, you'll get one.

Incorrect - I, along with many other season ticket holders in the queue at St Marys failed to get an Arsenal ticket.

I know people who booked tickets in the home end over the weekend and they don't have many tickets left at all (I imagine due to the kids for a quid offer) so any of our fans hoping to get in the home end will be disappointed! Being a season ticket holder who went to the Gooners game, I don't expect too many issues getting my tickets on Thursday, as long as the online system works ok...!

If you'd got there earlier, you would have got one. Those that went to the greater effort (either by forking out £50 for City away or queueing up from stupid o'clock) were rewarded.

Agreed, but your statement that if you were a season ticket holder and wanted an Arsenal ticket you would get one, remains incorrect.

Just spoken to ticket office and been told if we sell the 1,800 quick enough another 1,200 tickets available, so it's in everyones if people get tickets ASAP so we can get 3,000 allocation

Might have been worth them making that clear on the OS article, but that would bring an element of thinking into the process, which is clearly beyond their capability.

Don't go then, I have a ceiling of £45 for a prem game. Won't pay more out of principal. We are in the prem to be ripped off so you have to decided how much over the top you want to pay. Or whether you will wedge out 50 or 60 of your hard earned.

i'll go if i want but thanks for your input, merely stating that £39 is a bit of a rip-off, which it is

You can get into our cat 'a' games for £38

My question is, why arnt the club using the Loyalty Point scheme yet?

They are... Having 2 of Arsenal, City and Everton on your account is more points as a season ticket holder than only going to one of them. Just not sticking up massive numbers because Stevenage didn't attribute points to the account and the Wednesday game hasn't happened yet (so I doubt the system could handle people buying a Wednesday ticket to then be eligible for West Ham, ticket office breaks at the slightest push).

Should be alright buying on Thursday though

Although I agree to an extent Steve, sometimes it is not possible for people to do that, especially those who live out of Southampton. I don't think my work would take a valid excuse of...'Oh sorry I'm 2 hours late, I had to go to Southampton and queue for tickets for a football match'

I agree, but if people are that desperate to go to a particular game, they'll find a way. They always do. While it's completely untrustworthy, the online system was available for Arsenal sales if anyone couldn't get to SMS that morning, or perhaps ask friends who are local and available to queue on their behalf. Someone I know queued on behalf of about a dozen people, they each gave him a few quid on top of the ticket price by way of a thankyou.

Humm guessing its league loyalty for the big games then for a few more weeks till its all leveled out a bit...

No idea really was just providing some speculation to the magical black hole that is the ticket office

They are clearly making up this loyalty points scheme while they go along , surely they should say priority goes to people with x number of points rather than been to specific games , having sheffield Wednesday on your account for example.

Can't see too many more games where demand will be high , perhaps spurs away.

It is mildly insane to have a points system and then completely ignore it. I am now doubly delighted that I haven't been sucked in with the "20 loyalty points" available for tonight which was the only reason I'd have gone, and would have had precisely no impact whatsoever on my priority for West Ham (or maybe even any other future aways). Having not missed a match yet I could also gripe about not having priority over people who've only been to 2 aways... but as I'm not even going to West Ham I'm not that bothered for now.

It's ridiculous to have a system and then ignore it - at least stick the points against the matches when releasing the info. I was going to try but I've already forgotten which matches were in which categories - and I suspect this might also not be held as a calculation within the Ticketing system (otherwise why can't we see how many points we have?), so they're basically dispensing with the points system already in favour of just "which matches you went to".

It'll be interesting later in the season if they go back to points, or stick to number of games attended - in which case Sunderland away will be worth the same as Reading away, which is a bit daft. Then again, QPR away is worth more than Man U home under loyalty points...

They're definitely making it up as they go along.

Still no way of anyone (whether it's us as customers or the ticket office staff themselves) to see the total "loyalty points" earned by an individual without looking at the purchase history and working it out from that, and apparently the official line from the ticket office is that if you buy for tonight's game, it'll give you priority for the next round if we get through, but nothing more than that

The loyalty scheme seems to have grey lines.

I boought 11 tickets this morning for west ham from St Mary's - no queue at all (Just read a post about maximum 4 in one transaction, which is either not right or they are not enforcing it).t

I said to the lady that, given the loyalty points scheme, it would make it harder for some people to ever get enough points to get to some maches and she replied "No", we will keep changing the games that people would have had to have been to - To which I said yes, totalling of the loyalty points, but she was adament, that some tickets sales will be based on specific previous matches as opposed to a points total.

It is easy at the moment as there have only been (Previous to west ham) three matches on sale, but I am not convinced the whole model is in place or understood by everyone.

Official line was 20 points I thought ? Imagine if you'd bought for tonight on that basis with the expectation that points would count towards west ham priority , only to find out later you're just front of the queue for Bradford or Burton at home!

"Official Line" as in "what's written on the OS" is that it's 20 loyalty points, but "official line" as in "what whoever is responding to emails into the ticket office has told a friend of mine" is that it's priority for round 4

It seems pretty obvious from the West Ham model that they're happily going to mix and match the systems used, at best. What exactly is wrong with using loyalty points throughout I don't know, very few people go to every match, and even if they do, there are still tickets for others at most games.

Of course, the refusal to even attempt to include genuinely "hardcore" games like Stevenage and Sheff Weds in the loyalty system makes a bit of a mockery of it - they're precisely the way to sift out the properly "loyal" and reward them with priority. I say that as someone who isn't going tonight - fair enough if people are, it's worth 20 points... it might be nice if that actually meant anything.

As for what Steve said about Sheff Weds giving you priority for the next round... um, I went to Stevenage which is at least equal to tonight's match and in the same competition, where's my priority for that ? :D

Haha. Surely it makes sense for the ticket office to say priority for certain games is based on x number of loyalty points rather than a random number of away games been to?

I heard 2 blokes moaning about it when I was at the the ground earlier. One saying that he's been a loyal fan for 19 years but didn't go to any of our previous away games this season. Not that loyal then!

I mentioned this earlier - it was genuinely the only reason I'd even considered going tonight. I really don't need to see our reserves play again and lose another 3-4 hours of my life, just turned down a £10 ticket.

Mmm, there will always be quirks of the system, but in that case, assuming his loyalty is represented by a ST, he's got the same priority as all other ST holders, which is pretty fair.
