hamster Posted 24 September, 2012 Author Share Posted 24 September, 2012 Okay pedg. Its a window cleaners program. The industry standard ATM is a program called George. Look up 'George window cleaning'. They do a 'pocket George' which runs on an old palm pilot but try don't think there's a market for a proper android app. I disagree, it's a great little prog but needs to be more handy and portable. Plageurism it may be but it is needed IMHO. People are paying £50 for the windows program!

Essruu Posted 24 September, 2012 Share Posted 24 September, 2012 I'd happily pay a couple of quid for a window cleaning app. It'd save me £8 every 8 weeks.
loz20 Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 Making apps for android is easy, turning that into money is much more difficult than people think.

I assume it would have to be a standalone app rather than integrate with the george windows version? If it was intended that the information could be viewed and edited from a normal PC as well then it would need to probably have to have a matching cloud service. Then there is the problem of cost as given the limited number of possible users it could not really be a 99p app so would probably need to produce a free version limited in some way and a higher priced normal version. I will have a think and maybe look at it once I have finished my jury duty this week (hopefully!). Edited 25 September, 2012 by pedg
dubai_phil Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 My God you guys in the UK, your technology is so far more advanced than us. Hammy, can you post a vid of a Palm Pilot cleaning a window. Once I have proof I can get a mate who has developers in the Philipines to get IPhones doing it. How did they stop the problem of water getting into the electronics?

hamster Posted 29 September, 2012 Author Share Posted 29 September, 2012 I was thinking along the lines of a £4.99 app with ads. Upgrade to integrated pc programme at a monthly fee. Read the window cleaning forums. There's a lot of enterprising chaps out there and they need a proper tool in their pocket. These app would be a leap forward in reducing admin duties. Have a look at that George program. It looks so basic, yet is excellent. Maintains ALL records including mileage, income, outgoings. Its based on spreadsheets I think.
