Fanbase experiences

After the ridiculous comments from Villa fans and the some silly comments from last year, in your experience(s), what clubs have the most delusional/reactionary/arrogant fanbases?

As far as I'm concerned, as a Saint, we've got a smattering of delusionals, FoB's, and suicidals but compared to some clubs, we're very fortunate to have the fanbase we have.

In my experience, Brighton were perhaps the most prissy, getting all tetchy over the "guard-of-honour" and Adkins comments. Charlton fans were delusional and arrogant, so I always like to see them fail. Villa have to be some of the most delusional, along with our fishy chums to the east. As soon as there is trouble, as fanbases they're both quick to desert, too. Likewise Birmngham.

Bompey have to be the most amusing in recent times, getting all worked up over a non-rivalry then suddenly going very, very quiet once they were put back in their places.

West Ham were arrogant t0ssers.

Conversely, what fanbases have decent followings and fans in your opinion? I've always quite liked Chelsea fans and there has been a few clubs in the lower leagues who have got level-headed, balanced fans.

Always felt that Villa and Newcastle have particularly arrogant fans, the whole 'Geordie Nation' b*llocks is cringeworthy, the worst part is that they cannot understand why people laugh at them for it! West Ham need taking down a peg or two, you would think a side which has endured two spells in the Championship in recent times would be a little more humble.... but no.

I've mellowed towards Derby recently, mainly as I had a lodger who supported them who was a genuinely good bloke.

I've found West Brom, Coventry and Walsall to be down to earth.

Living in Staffordshire & working in the Black Country I'd have to say that Villa are the biggest club up here by a very long way but labour under their history.

Wolves are way out in front in the "delusions of grandeur" stakes & both Stoke & WBA are down to earth, realistic fans. Baggies fans tend to be the most knowledgeable.

BCFC are on suicide watch and both Walsall & Vale fans are rarer than hens teeth outside of small enclaves.

Hence the 'How many European cups have you won?' chant yesterday. Half of the people in the crowd weren't born when they won it.

Haha, yes, that rings true. The Matt Jarvis debacle proved that.

Also, totally 100% agree with the Baggies comment. Spoke to loads of Baggies, they've always, consistently, been knowledgeable and grounded.

Obviously pompey are off their heads.

Newcastle fans have imo, come back to earth (for the time being)

Liverpool fans.... Not just current events. always seem think we should all be on their side and the ridiculousness bias towards suarez

A few on here verged on utter arrogance.... Talking about us being the best club outside of them prem. Being bigger than Everton and needing a 50k stadium now

Bournemouth's mob are quite ridiculous. We give them players and a pitch to play on, yet we're still subhuman to them and deserve a lot of abuse. Can't get my head round that one. We're not their rivals, we never have been.

Villa yesterday for reasons I mentioned on another thread. Very bitter, could not accept they were beaten by the better team, did nothing but complain.

Reading last season were atrocious. A few fans who thought they were a bit nawty and caused trouble for no reason at all other than they were mentally ill, quiet as the grave until they were ahead, undeserved sense of importance and very arrogant. Couldn't admit they didn't play nice football last season when pushed on the matter.

Quite what Brighton's problem is with us I don't know. As long as they're managed by Poyet they're going to be morons, one would suggest.

Derby fans' arrogance during the play-off season was incredible.

West Ham are up there in the arrogance stakes. Well done on being the 'academy of football' but unfortunately you are the academy of ****s at times as well.

Then again, a section of our support make me cringe. The season ticket wavers and those who go round saying "WHERE WERE YOU WHEN WE WERE AT DAGENHAM AND REDBRIDGE? ****ING PLASTICS" every other game.

Saints. We needed a 50,000 stadium, had s team full of should be England internationals and were on an unstoppable march to the champions league when we were in League one and the championship.

To be honest, I still feel quite smug about the last 2 seasons, but that is only natrual. I know it is going to be very tough this season, but think if we stay up, we could be in Europe in a few years. This is more of a dream though, but that is what fans do, and it is realistic with the ambition of the club (5th biggest spenders in the transfer window, great young manager, and a together team). If we did go down, it would not be the end of the world, but I think we will be ok come wht May!

I can dream too. However, what I do know is that Cortese is one focused motherf#cking tough SOB with ambition. Like him or loathe him, he always demands more than should be possible to deliver.

It would be unwise to underestimate the mobster!
