clubs management had earnt us trusting in them, but excellent summer for a newly promoted club has given us decent chance of moving forward:

young international capt CB

England u21 full back

international keeper

England u21 cover, long term back up for RL

Pace added with young international forward, Africans nations top scorer

experienced international capt for CM

and potentially best player for a generation.

Our philosophy of only signing better then we have has been a little frustrating, it has led to us chasing a quality over quantity (shudder....) approach that has left us looking a little exposed at the back.

We are still on the look out though, and every player we have bought recently (with the possible exception of Dickson and in the short time he has been here Rodriguez) has been able to settle in quickly and impress.

We were missing a goalie up until yesterday. Not sure you can describe him as a summer transfer being that it wasn't done in the summer and isn't a transfer but there you go. He's in.

Think a second centre back or a left back would have been useful too. We are injuries and suspensions away from looking very thin back there.

But other than that, good business over all - delighted we haven't gone down the QPR route of Shuan Wright Phillips/Zamora/Kieron Dyer wage-drain deadbeats.

Our resident QPR fan says our transfers are alarming and wrong?

If we can get Clyne to play both sides simultaneously, we are sorted!

I'm very impressed with our new signings. My only complaint is the stupid timing of the end of the window. It was crippling for the new teams that need to build their teams in the first few games when the existing sides already have a PL setup.

Worth comparing our line up against Coventry to our strongest line up now...

Vs Cov:

-------------Davis------------

Butterfield--Fonte--Hooiveld--Fox

Guly--Hammond--Schniederlin--Lallana

-----Lambert---Sharp-------

Our subs that day were Cork, Puncheon, De Ridder, Harding, Bialkowski

Now, our likely strongest line up might be:

------------Boruc--------------

Richardson--Fonte--Yoshida--Clyne

------Schniederlin--S. Davis--------

Puncheon----Ramirez----Lallana

------------Lambert-----------

With a bench of Gazzanigga, Cork, Mayuka, Hooiveld, Ward-Prowse, Rodriguez, Lee
