ToreSF Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 Simon Peach tweeted this yesterday: Would expect free defensive reinforcements soon after Boruc deal. Who could it be?
hypochondriac Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 When asked whether he was satisfied with our signings didn't Adkins say wait and see?
david in sweden Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 Simon Peach tweeted this yesterday: Would expect free defensive reinforcements soon after Boruc deal. Who could it be? no names (I'm not ITK).. but common sense says....an older, more experienced former international defender.. .and not necessarily British! perhaps ....only a short-term contract, but another in the NC/NA mould of surprise signings.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 I can't see this on his twitter feed?
Turkish Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 Who is Italian full back available on a free, Rossi?? I think we can only add one more anyway.
Thedelldays Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 Whoa is Italian full back available on a free, Rossi?? I think we can only add one more anyway. Grosso Zambrotta. both world cup winners..?
Patrick Bateman Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 no names (I'm not ITK).. but common sense says....an older, more experienced former international defender.. .and not necessarily British! perhaps ....only a short-term contract, but another in the NC/NA mould of surprise signings. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabio_Grosso or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gianluca_Zambrotta Please. I asked for Boruc and he was delivered, now one of them will do nicely for a season - both great players for Shaw to learn from as well.
Patrick Bateman Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 Grosso Zambrotta. both world cup winners..? Great minds!
Turkish Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 Grosso Zambrotta. both world cup winners..? Between hem they've played for Juventus, Barcelona, Inter and Millan so could probably handle the pressure that comes with paying for a club like Southampton.
Katalinic Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 (edited) do either still have the legs at 35? I think you only have to look at players like Scholes - sometimes what the legs are lacking can be made up for by speed of thought, positional sense, anticipation and just general experience. Grosso and Zambrotta have been there, done it and either would be excellent signings. Edited 23 September, 2012 by Katalinic
hypochondriac Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 Exciting! If we get a decent LB in then even I will start to be positive. Just a CB reinforcement in January and I will be very happy!

hypochondriac Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 Simon Peach tweeted this yesterday: Would expect free defensive reinforcements soon after Boruc deal. Who could it be? Why does he say reinforcements plural? Surely we only have one space left?
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 Why does he say reinforcements plural? Surely we only have one space left? As I said, I can't actually see any evidence of this on his twitter feed. Happy for someone to find it for me though.
S-Clarke Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 I also cannot see anything on his twitter feed.
Jimmy_D Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 I'm guessing that's the tweet in question. There's nothing ITK there I don't think, just an assumption of what he expects us to do.
