Noodles34 Posted 24 September, 2012 Share Posted 24 September, 2012 Already regretting not putting some dosh on him for top scorer this season... Wasn't he 75-1 or something stupid at one point? I didn't learn from this mistake last year either (when he was 20-1 at the start of the season if memory serves) I have £5 each way (1/4 odds 1,2,3,4) at 80/1 - think i got laughed at on here by some..... shalalalala...la

dubai_phil Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 That's it then. He won't score again all season. And (thanks to Pilchards) we won't score another penalty all year
London Saint Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 I jumped on 80/1 for him to be top goal scorer back in July Although I dont think he will finish with the golden boot (most likely to be RVP again if he stays fit) it was still a great Each way bet so even if he finishes 4th top scorer with 15-18 goals then that will still be enough to pay out!! The9 Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 The9 ' I don't think he'll score 10 this season' Rabbit ' ill bet you a tenner that he'll score at least 10 then' The9 'nah' Rabbit 'right.....' Anyhoo... I'm thinking around 15. The9 tell us why he won't score 10 and why you won't take a dead cert bet then You were offering crap odds, that's why. I'm going to say... "4", for the lolz. I'm still waiting for his inevitable injury, which was the basis of the Billy Sharp prediction in the first place. I am slowly coming round to his general awesomeness though, and of all people, *I* should be able to appreciate what an immobile player who never runs but can pass, shoot and win headers can offer a side. alpine_saint Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 4 in 5 games works out at 30 over 38 games. Not forgetting that 2 of them came against the big guns, one could argue that if remains fit and in-form he could be looking at 35 for the season. Yes, I know it wont play out like that. Wes Tender Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 Not hard to see why we spent so much time fighting off relegation only one 20+ goal scorer in 10 years...... Although nice to have a 20 goal a season man in the team, what is equally important is the number of goals scored by the team. Recently we have been a team with goals coming from all over the pitch, even our CBs and backs. We are blessed with several players currently who could add plenty of goals this season. The9 Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 Amazing! He'll reach 100 goals before 200 games... One in two is a pretty decent scoring rate, which hasn't been hurt by playing for a team which finished in the top 2 of its league in the past two seasons. It'll be interesting to see if both Saints and Lambert are able to maintain that scoring rate in the Prem.

John B Posted 2 October, 2012 Share Posted 2 October, 2012 I don't care what the9 tells me.. lambert is and will always be a saints legend.....best £1m signing EVER I agree think he could be the best signing for what he has achieved in getting SFC promotedever but Terry Paine from Winchester was pretty good too and he was a World Cup Winner as well. With Penalties he could score 20 or so this season

david in sweden Posted 2 October, 2012 Share Posted 2 October, 2012 If you had to guess? I see he is already up among the PL top scorers:) 4 S. Fletcher (Sunderland) 4 R. Lambert (Southampton) 4 M. Michu (Swansea) 4 R. van Persie (Man Utd) 3 D. Ba (Newcastle) Long way to go but I could see him getting around 20 if he carries on the way he is going which would be very impressive at this level. CAREFUL !...you'll arouse Turkish's wrath. That sounds like a hypothetical question to me .......or, do I mean hypocritical?......
