Whose looking forward to MOTD?

Did Lawrenson and Redknapp not even notice Ramirez then? he basically ran the game in the second half. They are both terrible pundits. Comparing Lambert to Holt is just lazy - Lambert has a lot more to his game than Holt.

The big difference between the two sides was we had 4 players who could all change the game - Puncheon, Lallana, Lambert and Ramirez. Villa didn't!

And they seem to have forgotten the reason we have been out of the Premier League was Harry Redknapp got us relegated. I can't even stand that man talking about our club.

The slug balancer has probably blocked Ramirez out - as 'he would never come here....'

Thdey do only watch the highlights - and form an opinion on that and also the researchers will be looking for the 'story, and Yes, when you see Lambo's contribution condenced like that its easyto forget how well he dows (far more than HOLT), and its great to see, but to not mention the control, subtlety and passing of Ramirez is pretty blinkered.... as is the factually inaccurate 'Villa in control' at any part of the game.... but it gives us plenty to get take teh pish out of the slug balancer though.

Christ our stewards are miserable sods. One shouts F'ing T##t at Clyne for jumping into the crowd.

I was about to post the same - what a bleedin 'Jobsworth' that man is.

As others have said Mark Lawrenson (who I quite like actually) although complementary, appeared to have only seen the highlights. Comparing SRL with Grant Holt yet again should now be a sackable offence I'd say. I don't believe for one moment that he has it in for us, but when he opined that Villa were in "complete control" of the first half, I just could not reconcile that with the game I was watching.

To be fair Saggy had some very nice things to say about Nigel.

Anyone watching WBA-Reading? Going by the MOTD edit, Reading are absolute ****e again. Baggies all over them.

there's people on this thread moaning about lazy journalism, yet you seem to have totally ignored the fact that WBA were a top side last season, taking several teams apart home and often away. Don't underestimate them or Reading, both will give us problems. Reading have had a tough start. I wonder how many points we'll take off Chelsea, Spurs and Stoke?

Yes, I saw that on the stream and wanted to check on MOTD. He grabbed Clynes arm, called him '****ing ****' (which is easily decernable on TV) and tries to throw him back.

I'm going to send a letter to the club. Another self deluded drunk with power, bullied at school, **** himself who doesn't realise without the players, no fans, without the fans, no stewards. I bet he's a traffic warden, or a Highways Agency Traffic Officer, or a PCSO in real life.

On the up side, I believe that Lowro deliberatly avoided the subject of Ramirez, or somethignlike this would have happened.

Lowro: That Ramirez on his first game start definatly made a difference.

Redknapp: Yes his movement and passing made the difference today and changed the tempo of the game for the goal.

Line-Acre: Yes. Didn't you say that Saints would never sign him.

L: Don't go there Gary.

Line-Acre: NO, do you remember you said they wouldn't sign him. You were quite specific about the fact that they wouldn't sign him, yet here he is in Red and a hint of White.

L: Look, I just weighed up the facts, ok. They are a tin pot team who haven't got the money to buy a player at 12 million.

Line-Acre: but they have.

L: Well, they must be heavely in debt then to pay that much.

Line-Acre: They're worth about 5 billion.

L: Yes, 5 million won't ........

Line-Acre: I said 5 BILLION. 5th richest in the League.

R: 5 Billion??????? Where's me phone, HAS ANYONE GOT CORTESES NUMBER? I've got to open Rosies account again.

I maybe a sad old git but I do think that Clyne was a **** for jumping in the crowd. If he'd picked upa second yellow for a mistimed tackle with 10 mins to go, I'm sure a few more would start to agree.

Lawro is a plum, but I thought Redknapp was ok, good praise for Nigel and "they'll do well to keep him long term" should be noted by NC.

Just watching Football First, what a load of cobblers the comment on MOTD "Villa were in control first half". Like others have said very lazy pundits on MOTD

Yea Villa dominated first half despite having less possession and less chances created

Very few of these pundits have any sort pride in their profession. They are often so ill informed, you wonder what they get paid so well for.

MOTD would be a better show if the pundits actually watched the games. I mean I know they ain't got time to watch them all, but they could at least watch the big game of the day. It's clear Lawrenson never saw the game against Villa. He's like seen it was 0-1, seen Paul Lambert claim they deserved to be ahead, and decided Villa must have dominated. He's like the Alpine Saint of pundits.

I ain't a hater though, I don't mind him on Football Focus or whatever I like how he says "merment". I also like it when he's co-commentator on Five Live and Alan Green says something dumb and you can hear Lawrenson lolling in the backgrounds.

I'm certainly not underestimating West Brom, and I agree that they're a decent side.

Yes Reading have had a difficult start and I'm not sure how many points we'll take off Chelsea, Spurs and Stoke.

To be fair I was looking beyond Reading's results and more at the level of performance, and I stand by my original assertion that they're ****e.

Stern John v Sheff Utd in the last game of the season we had to win to stay up.

I refuse to watch it until they replace the presenters who are well passed their sell by date. It's nearly a quarter of a century since Hansen and Lawrenson played. The game has changed a hell of a lot since then. Hansen gets £40k per episode, which is a complete disgrace when the BBC have just cut the funding for football coverage on local BBC radio stations. So, people who support local clubs now struggle to follow their local team on the radio in favour of those silly old ****s talking ****e about the Premier league (which in itself is a complete joke) every Saturday night.

Scandalous.

Paid more then some Premier League football just to share his shallow Liverpool biased 'opinion?' A terrible waste.

I would bet Lawrenson (waste of Oxygen as a pundit) and the Antichrist are on similar.

Agreed. I'll probably be ridiculed for this though, but I actually don't mind AH. Lawro on the other hand appears to offer no added value whatsoever. Saggy just says what he always says. They this, they that etc just like he used to say when he was our manager :-)

Quite a convenient bit of reference to the old boy's network that permeates football actually. Our own chairman's defiance of it hasn't helped his standing.

At least Hansen makes an effort to analyse or point out what players could've done better, Lawro sounds like he's never even played the game, very odd man.

Tell me about it. Couple of things from yesterdays show, straight after Adkins said "there's a great confidence and belief in what we can achieve here", Lawro mentioned how we are low on confidence because of our poor start. And then he says that Aston Villa were totally in control in the first half - I think not, we had more possession and chances than them.
