I haven't been bothered before tonight, but 1.5 bottles of wine in and been on the iPad for 2 hours while the wife watches whatever gash reality show nonsense is on this week, I'm ready

That comparison is boring, over-used, lazy and wrong. Holt is a good player but they only compare the two because of their history in the lower leagues.

Well, I must admit I didn't totally appreciate Lambert's contribution until I watched that. Certainly involved in all our goals - still think Ramirez was fantastic though.

Not a lot. Just focused on Lambert and how he has a good penalty record and how he is like Holt.

FWIW just watched up to HT and IMO Lambert was indifferent, winning alot in the air but needlessly giving it away and for the goal, ok, maybe they thought Gaz had it coming but if I was Yoshida I would have volleyed it into touch regardless

Both teams were poor first half but no way were villa really comfortable. Lawrenson won't even have seen the game.

Standard of MOTD commentators and pundits hasn't improved since I last watched it in 2005!

 

"Villa deservedly in front at half time" "controlled the 1st half" - really?

 

"Horrendous defending" for Villa's goal - Well bad mistake by Puncheon, but then just a nice break for Villa really after that.

 

"Lambert compared to Holt" - yawn, yawn, starting to fall asleep now, at least we see the Saints smashing someone without waiting up all night!

Hmmm.. Does harry have a disorder or has he been in an accident that would make it innapropriate to take the p1ss? I'm struggling to make out his face.... But that might be the "post Aston villa stuffing" alcohol consumption causing that....

Watching the football first game on sky I must admit I thought that Villas goal was completely against the run of play.

 

Lawrenson is completely clueless, I cringe whenever the tit is either commentating or punditing

You're not alone most fans of other clubs just think he is a big "English" centre Forward it's only saints (Brizzle Rovers maybe) fans that realize just how much more he is than a big lump upfront....

The only time they were in complete control was from when they scored through to the half time whistle as we went to pieces a bit during that period. To claim the whole half out of that iis ridiculous. You can keep your rose tinted specs on, they are not faulty :)

A Liverpool supporting mate of mine came to watch us last season, and was amazed with Lambert, having previously thought he was just a Steve Howard-alike.

Good grief Reading are terrible. 0 points after 4 games was worrying for us but at least the ingredients of a decent side were there. Reading have just looked like a bunch of muppets against West Brom and Spuds. They are going straight back down playing like that, no doubt about it.

 

West Ham haven't been anything to write home about either. Lucky to get points in some very winnable opening fixtures.

are you taking the ****? Harry was in a car accident when commentating on italia 90 or world cup 94 or something which led to his facial issues.
