syd_barrett_saint Posted 22 September, 2012 Share Posted 22 September, 2012 You can see why he was subbed at half-time after that. But then, we all knew it before the season started, we all knew it before the transfer window ended, and we all knew it before today. How was Fox still in the team and how did we not buy another left back?
SNSUN Posted 22 September, 2012 Share Posted 22 September, 2012 How much time did the Villa defence give Lambert for his first! Shocking defending, same for all 3 openn play goals actually.
Ric Posted 22 September, 2012 Share Posted 22 September, 2012 Great strength and marksmanship by Rickie for his first, and what a gorgeous chip by Ramirez for the second. The less said about our defending for Villa's goal the better...
syd_barrett_saint Posted 22 September, 2012 Share Posted 22 September, 2012 I thought the first was more down to Lambert's quick-thinking and determination than slack Villa defending. He wanted it more.
barney Posted 22 September, 2012 Share Posted 22 September, 2012 Credit to Adkins he made the switch Fox/Clyne ,and it worked superbly but as others have said, why was no left-back bought? I know the Buttner deal fell through but why no back-up?

So glad we've got Rickie and not Darren Bent. Good little link for the highlights that one.

The Cat Posted 22 September, 2012 Share Posted 22 September, 2012 To be fair their goal came from a miss-hit shot although 2 players going for the same ball before it fell to Ireland was poor. Although I lay the blame at Puncheon who gave the ball away with a horribly lazy pass before the goal highlights kicked in.
