I thought the first was more down to Lambert's quick-thinking and determination than slack Villa defending. He wanted it more.

Credit to Adkins he made the switch Fox/Clyne ,and it worked superbly but as others have said,why was no left-back bought?

I know the Buttner deal fell through but why no back-up?

To be fair their goal came from a miss-hit shot although 2 players going for the same ball before it fell to Ireland was poor. Although I lay the blame at Puncheon who gave the ball away with a horribly lazy pass before the goal highlights kicked in.
