He always had the ability, just felt he lacked a bit of confidence and was maybe comfortable playing second fiddle to Davis and needed to play regularly.

 

Yep, ability was there for all to see, think he just got in a bit of a comfort zone and needed a kick up the arse. Although the Blackpool game maybe have been too hard of a kick..

I remember his debut for the ressies at staplewood, he looked like an excellent keeper. I'm pretty sure that with a decent run of games earlier in his Saints career he could have become our number one for years to come. I wouldn't be surprised to see him move onwards and upwords from notts county, he's way above that level imo.

Every time he got a run he did well. The scandal was when Whiskey George dropped him for the playoff semi-final after he'd been superb for about 10 games

 

I must have missed those 'runs' then. George had no choice in the Derby game, he didn't want to play.

 

He had the ability, but his problem was between the ears.

 

Nice to see him doing well now.
