pap Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 KD may not be no.1 in the team, but is still number 1 in our hearts imho Sort of like a "people's goalie"?
Thedelldays Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 Congratulations to a great transfer! Great man and still a good goalkeeper. He has not played recently in the national team and Euro 2012, beacuse He had an argument with national coach, who said that Boruc will never play in his team. Boruc - Legia Legend! During his playing Celtic He went with Legia fans to the away game and climbed on the fence, starting chants Quality

Tokyo-Saint Posted 25 September, 2012 Share Posted 25 September, 2012 KD may not be no.1 in the team, but is still number 1 in our hearts imho But can he climb a fence at an away match to start some chants? Queen of hearts or not, I've never seen Kelv do this.

Thedelldays Posted 9 October, 2012 Share Posted 9 October, 2012 Spoke to a mate this morning who is a huge celtic fan who actually goes quite a lot He absolutely loves boruc.. Said he was amazing for them in the league and champions league... He (boruc) absolutely loved winding up rangers fans and did so regularly. He did say that towards the end of his time at celtic, he got a bit lazy as there was no competition... Put on quite a bit of weight and was told off a few times for being pictured out on the pop watching his team in Poland (who is fanatical about)
Saint J 77 Posted 9 October, 2012 Share Posted 9 October, 2012 Does anyone know how Boruc has been getting on in his last two games for the development squad? I've seen the results, a 1 nil defeat and a 3 all draw but I haven't yet heard any feedback good or bad to how he has been performing. Is he still a long way off the pace or is he close to full match fitness/sharpness . Is he ready to be called upon for the first team if he is needed? I watched the 3-3 game last night, and he looked fine. Made a couple of cracking saves, and distributed the ball pretty well. He didn't have a chance with any of the goals really. He's probably not the player he was 2 or 3 years ago, but I think we have a good GK set up now - just what we needed as a PL team. Gazzaniga has the shirt on merit at the mo though, I think he's been a breath of fresh air in goal.
Saint Charlie Posted 9 October, 2012 Share Posted 9 October, 2012 Boruc was a Cortese, Adkins and Les Reed signing IMO. As above, great option to have but hope we continue with Gazza for now.

I do wonder if he will be put in for the west ham game, but I agree with you that Gazza should carry on in goal for now.
the saint in winchester Posted 9 October, 2012 Share Posted 9 October, 2012 If his contract is only to the end of the season, he has to be given the chance to earn his crust and potentially play for a new contract. I assume we didn't recruit him to play in the development squad!

Exactly, Gazza is the long-term solution and his development is the most important thing here. We need to keep that ticking over and don't want to destroy his confidence. There is also the motivation that the shirt is yours unless you make a mistake. After that you have to work even harder to win it back again.
