Celtic fans dont rate him that highly

 

BO££OCKS , Celtic fans rated him very highly and very dissappointed when he moved on , he was hounded out of Glasgow by certain factions because of his religious beliefs, As with the majority of Polish he is a strong catholic but that has nothing to do with his great ability as a Footballer. IMO a great signing for the club, top class international Goalie.

As I said, Polish mate is a Saints fan and well into his Polish football. When I said I'd seen us linked to Boruc he said "**** off, no way would he join Saints - if we get him, we are once again batting above our average with the signings"

This is a fantastic signing.

 

Just read that Stephen Warnock has gone to Bolton on loan. Always rated him. Shame we're not allowed to sign players on loan as he could've done a great job at LB for us.

 

Paul Lambert has gone nuts. Villa's defence looked shocking today and they loan out a class LB. Nuts.

 

only 32, kept 14 clean sheets last season for Fiorentina

 

132 clean sheets in 293 career appearances (source Wiki) is a fantastic statistic for a 'keeper.

the darned Poles have this sort of impossible to write/type sound of a z that can sound like a bee with a shhh and a tsk in it

 

So it ain't quite a tsch sound but that was as good as I could spell it after watching the game in the pub and then seeing this news:)

Some absolute tosser on a Southampton forum keeps linking people to this thread claiming that "Celtic fans don't rate him that highly" then again why would I care about poor club that is just going to get relegated, in saying that I can't wait to see the big man in action again and if anyone prevents them getting relegated it will be him.

 

Seems you've made yourself unpopular there in no-time.....

Good age for a keeper, hoped we'd sign someone like that, experienced but easily with 5 years in them. 1 year deal but I imagine that's to see if it works out for both parties. If he does well he'll probably stay.

just the sort of keeper I wanted us to sign in the summer, when people were saying that it was wrong to diss KD.

I don't think we've seen the last of Kelvin, ( a good club man by any standards), but if Artur is anywhere near as good as he was in his Celtic days - we've found another "match-winner " .

 

I know that the You Tube clips are always showing their better sides, but isn't there a little sense of Antti Niemi about him?. I think so.

Should be a good Saint then!

 

if it helped his career as much as when I've seen him play, I suggest the rest of the Saints squad learn to do it, too !

My thoughts exactly, a good chance of Neimi mark two, and a lot of those recent performances and clean sheets were against the better Italian clubs...

The last player we got from Fiorentina was Papa Waigo. I hope Boruc is better at staying onside.

 

And the last Pole we had in goal proved to be a clown.

 

I'm sure Artur is far better . I don't want to see a backpage headline reading:

 

"Artur drops a Boruc!"

Slow down. I don't want to get excited but to my memory, this guys is decking class. One of the best keepers outside of the Buffon etc grouping. Why the hell have we only given him a 1 season contract. He has the potential to be the best keeper we've ha din recent times. Looks crazy to boot!,!

They didn't rate Jos either, which casts a little doubt on their judgement maybe?

 

 

don't know, I don't think Jos has shown he can step up to the PL as yet. Fonte looked a lot better with Yoshida than he has with Jos. Then again that could be about the quality of the opposition.

Welcome to Artur - looks to be a surprising and astute signing. I suspect the years contract was his choice perhaps, or that we've not had enough time to evaluate his personality which appears to be a big factor in making decisions on players. Let's hope he does well for us.

Brilliant, finally got what appears to be a class GK. If he's anywhere as good as Niemi then our defence will be getting a real shot in the arm and the team will have saved a pile of points.

 

One thing I noticed from the videos is that he seems to like to push the ball back into play in a lot of his saves. Looks like our defenders will have to be sharp on clearing the ball.

 

Hopefully he'll go straight into the team.

Tbh though they were up against city Manu & the arse - any CB pairing is gonna look fragile against that lot

Listening to Adkins, he said that ''Boruc comes in as our number 3 keeper"

 

I suspect what he means by that is that Boruc is currently number 3 on merit and will have to prove he is the best keeper here to be our number 1. Hardly good team building to tell the other 2 that they have no chance!

He won't have played for months so will need a few weeks training to get himself in shape I'd imagine. I'm sure he'll be our first choice come end of October though.
