Obviously he did very well this Summer, and also last year in identifying who we were trying to pick up in the transfer window, as well as seeming to know a lot about the inner workings of the club.

I know that many clubs have specific journalists who they break news through, so I am wondering whether after the Sun debacle, he was identified by the club as someone that they would feed information to ahead of any other publications, to **** the Sun off. Choosing a journalist from it's biggest rival would be a way to do this.

According to some posters on here he knows f*ck all because he dared to say that we didn't know what centre halves we wanted a week before the window shut, despite all you correctly state above.

Well indeed. We didn't know. I remember Adkins categorically stating we wouldn't be going for Yoshida, which makes me think that we changed our mind very late on.

Who knows? What is very clear is that he knew what was going on at the club.

Most of this probably comes from Agents I would imagine. He obviously has some good contacts and Agents clearly know who is talking to who etc..

True - however, we had sorted his work permit out well in advance of him signing according to the OS (as with Ramirez), so Adkins might have been bluffing - to sort a WP out would a proof of contract be needed?

What is more likely? He has a source inside sfc that gives him transfer info for all our acquisitions or he knew the agents of every single deal we did and so got every one correct (he himself said he had a singular source with regards to sfc.) Seriously just think about it for a second and which one seems most likely? I know that many people don't like to think of someone inside sfc maybe leaking some information to journalists but come on...

Both plausible. If it was someone inside Saints then I think they would have waited until the deal was a bit nearer to completion - both Clyne and Rodriguez were reported far in advance of the deal actually beign completed.

In Jay's case Nixon then reported that Villa were keen. Surely more likely an agent drumming up more interest than someone at Saints - can't see the benefit of that for the club? And I expect the inner details of transfer offers etc arent known by that many people at Saints so if someone is leaking then its a fairly important employee.

Nixon also didn't know much on ramirez - he said himself. If it was a saints source then surely they would know more about that deal than any other? Ditto Yoshida.

Maybe Nixon is just a really lucky guesser, and fluked all of our transfer scoops by drawing names out of a hat.

I may ask him if he fancies doing my lottery tickets.

Phil the Octopus would have the same success rate.
