eurosaint Posted 18 September, 2012 Share Posted 18 September, 2012 With you all the way ! Pleased that I will be in the stadium and not here on the match day thread which is full of some incredibly fickle and negative prats !! COYS

sotonian Posted 19 September, 2012 Share Posted 19 September, 2012 I'm so with this idea no matter how we do Saturday, but if we go a couple of goals down we all know the atmosphere is going to turn bad

lordswoodsaints Posted 19 September, 2012 Share Posted 19 September, 2012 Looking forward to it but as optimistic as I am about us winning I can just hear the boos ringing around at the halftime whistle if we are not winning.
Saint since 66 Posted 19 September, 2012 Share Posted 19 September, 2012 Could not agree more. I am expecting a great but nervous atmosphere. We really need to support the boys and be the 12th player. Come on, we can do this.
This Charming Man Posted 19 September, 2012 Share Posted 19 September, 2012 I imagine the atmosphere will be the same as always, deathly silence in 3 stands - everyone sat rigid like statues and the Northam trying their best to make a bit of a racket. Then if we fall behind the other 3 stands will boo the team off at HT and the ground will be virtually empty come the fall time whistle.

Won't stop me having a bloody good day out either way, but I hope our supporters rise to the occasion and actually support the lads. The stuff you hear about the crowd being the 12th man may have been reduced to little more than marketing spiel but our reaction undoubtedly affects the team. Would be nice to hear the whole stadium rocking, it's been too long. Plenty of chants for Adkins too.

Well I'm not expecting much in the area I'm sitting in....being as I will be sitting in the family end with my six year old daughter. Still sounds like it will be just like last season minus the feel good factor:lol:

Saint Garrett Posted 19 September, 2012 Share Posted 19 September, 2012 I don't think we'll hear boos in the middle of the game. Our fans are not that clueless.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 19 September, 2012 Share Posted 19 September, 2012 The whole ground will go quiet if things start to look dodgy let's face it and the Northam (despite contrary beliefs) will be just as bad. We need an early goal to soak up some tension from the game - that's the answer.
Spudders Posted 19 September, 2012 Share Posted 19 September, 2012 If we concede an early goal then i can guarantee the majority of the crowd will turn and the moans and boos will be heard. Why is there often this misconception? There's been plenty of times when we've gone a goal down and as soon as the noise from the away fans initial cheer has subsided, the only noise is us all trying to roar the lads on. Leicestersaint Posted 20 September, 2012 Share Posted 20 September, 2012 I can't see anything other than a comprehensive win for us. And that was my view (and the veiw of everyone I know) before we played Wigan. I just hope you're right.
Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 20 September, 2012 Share Posted 20 September, 2012 And that was my view (and the veiw of everyone I know) before we played Wigan. I just hope you're right. I hope he's right too. If we play as well as we did in that 30 min spell against United last home match, we could do very well. However, Villa have improved of late and the pressure will be on our lads big time. So if I was Villa manager, I'd tell my team to hang on in there and keep it close. 0-0 or 1-0 to Saints with 15 mins left will play into Villa hands and we'll really see how well the "new boys" can handle the pressure.
