SaintJackoInHurworth Posted 17 September, 2012 Share Posted 17 September, 2012 ...we have been naive in our first four games and have paid the price... ...we have not signed the defensive cover that many of us expected... ...we put in a particularly poor performance against Arsenal... ...we were frustrated that our transfer dealings were not completed by the start of the season... ...we have been surprised, confused and disappointed by some of Nigel's selections and substitutions... ...our first team kit is NOT a Saints kit - the colours are wrong... BUT.... ...IT IS TIME TO END THE RUBBISH!!!!!! Despite all of the above... ...we are still only 1 point behind Reading, 2 points behind Liverpool and QPR and 3 points behind Sunderland and Norwich all of whom have had FAR easier fixtures than us to start the season. ...we are the ONLY team to have scored against Arsenal this season. ...we scored TWICE against both Man Utd and Man City. ...we have spent the seventh most on signing new players of any teams in Europe. ...we almost beat both Manchester clubs and were beating them. ...we have had huge support at all of our matches. ...several members of our squad were on international duty last week, beacuse we have some great players. ...our squad is young and inexperienced and will get better and better and better! ...Liverpool have Man Utd away in their next match and QPR have Spurs away, whereas we have Aston Villa at home. ...Norwich have got to play Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in their next four games, we have got Aston Villa, Everton, Fulham and West Ham - our fixtures are relatively much less difficult (though not being stupid enough to suggest that any of those games we have any right to win). ...Portsmouth are towards the bottom of League 1 even before they have had any points deducted. We are in the Prem! ...Ramirez, Yoshida and Mayuka will finally get a full week of training with the squad this week. ...Kelvin Davis WILL grow in confidence once he has got a few clean sheets and made a few great saves and realised that he CAN cut it in the top flight. ...we have scored in 3 out of 4 games we have played and we will score goals against most teams this season. ...We will have learned a lot from playing such quality teams to start with and can now start to apply those lessons in the games ahead. SO, let's get behind the team, the manager, the players and NC and stop all the moaning; and let's wait and see where we are at Christmas! We will not be bottom and may even be mid-table by then. If I'm wrong and we are bottom THEN you can moan all you like... IF you really think that is going to help!! This fact is undeniable - the players, manager and club need one thing more than anything. They need US to get behind them and give them our rapturous support, to cheer them on to victory. They do not need a bunch of grumbling, moaning, negative losers - just look where that got Blackburn and Bolton and Birmingham and Middlesbrough... I could go on!! So let's end the rubbish NOW! pingwing Posted 17 September, 2012 Share Posted 17 September, 2012 Cant find it on youtube but all I want to post is the old fool of Paisley shouting Never, Never, NEVER! Partly as theres no fun in being denied a good bit of doom and gloom (Kelvin got found out in L1 so god knows why anyone is surprised it has also happened in the prem) and party because it naturally will sort its self out, a quarter of the really difficult fixtures out of the way after 4 games is a natural positive so things will get better regardless of how angry we all get. So let's end the rubbish NOW! well conceived post ....at 3.51 in the morning - do you ever sleep ? Looking through the whole post, It's difficult to disagree with anything in the first part. As for individual comments. Considering that half the selected side were playing L1 football two years ago, they 've done their best (and a few have played their best - and been found out.) Naive ? - YES..a bit. I think that some of them were over-rated last season, but I don't blame NA for playing them, but SOMEONE (maybe not him directly) has to answer why ..after we clearing out those defenders (Jaidi, Harding, Martin - and leaving us only with the untried Seaborne )... .we didn't get in adequate replacements. That was naive. ....as was the lack of adequate cover for KD. He's not the world's best, but I still think he will come good (a few clean sheets will prove that) ...but what happens if he's injured ? (God forbid) ...without an experienced back-up... it'd be hard on Gazzaniga to have to cover for more than a few games against some of the Prem strikers around at present. I'm just glad Brum didn't accept our bid for Butland, he's not much better judging by results. ......

Agreed, let's end the rubbish NOW Kelvin Davis will NOT grow in confidence because he will be incapable of keeping a clean sheet, and he will NEVER cut it in the Premi Yes, the team have no doubt learnt lessons from matches so far played, but not a lot of point learning lessons if you do not have players of the calibre to IMPROVE performances. Davis will NOT improve It is obvious to most, including many well respected pundits, that Davis is well past his sell by date, and is NOT Prem quality class. The blame for not addressing that fact lies squarely with Cortese/Adkins ... Cortese if he would not sanction BIG money for a Prem class replacement, or Adkins if he seriously thought Davis was adequate. The end result cannot be disputed, we are bottom of the League, on -9 with NO points So, I Agree ... Let's end the rubbish NOW

Saint-Fred Posted 17 September, 2012 Share Posted 17 September, 2012 Apparently voicing valid criticism is reason to be an anti-fan. Reminds me of the glory days of going to Rochdale, seeing Kelvin concede the same useless goal twice and being told quite firmly to shut up by some middle aged woman who thought he had been beaten by two wold class strikes, to his near post.... Good on her...you moaning at the game about Kelvin and voicing that at a level audible enough for her to comment during the game is never going to help is it? Kelvin was always good enough for league 1 so what was your issue? Where you the one shouting at the top of his voice during the Man Utd game (at the 60th minute?) to our players "to take the balls into the corners as they can't score from there" then berating them as F'ing useless when they didn't were you? Voicing valid criticism at an appropriate time doesn't make you an anti-fan but F****** moaning during the game at OUR PLAYERS makes you part of the problem! How are our players supposed to gain confidence when our own fans attack them for every mistake and that was in league 1!

Surprise, surprise, now everybody can see. Some of his biggest fans onto the bandwagon, only Old Nick, fair play Nick, still thinks the world of him. I never rated him and he is no worse than he ever was, just out of his depth now. Edited 17 September, 2012 by derry
