Spudders Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 People that are saying our support was good clearly don't go often. OWTS fizzled out all the time and wasn't sung properly and we were silent for large parts of the game. The majority of our support seemed to want to stand in silence. Agree, our support wasn't great (still better than Arsenal). And why oh why are people STILL not getting the concept of doing OWTS's slow for two rounds first before going into the fast version, it's not rocket science. When the ticketing process for games like Arsenal is so selective then London games are crap.
pingwing Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 ****inh hell, I must be getting old, but they got on my tits. There was no originality in any of the banter, nothing funny, it didn't even wind the Arsenal fans up, it just made us look small time. You were on the wrong side and missed out "you have a nose for stabbing geese" Most confusing afternoon of watching 2 groups of "hard lads" trying to wind up fans who didn't care and getting dragged of by the stewards and police... sperm_john Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 sat in the arsenal end that was a painful day out. my thoughts; we knocked the ball around at the back quite nicely at times but when it came to moving forward we ran out of ideas and simply weren't quick enough to pick out the pass (conversly arsenal were awesome at doing this yesterday) ricky was marked out of the game and had practically no service, when he did it was a punted ball big sam style, which added to the confusion in terms of our playing style we are still knocked off the ball far too easily, the only player who didnt let this happen was ramirez when he came on yoshida looked confident unlike the rest of the team and ramirez looked a cut above everyone else in our squad. the only way is up but nigel needs to sort his starting 11 out now and work out his strategy for the prem, because at the moment we are about as confused as a box full of frogs
Colbury Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 One a big lad and one with a scar on his cheek? Giving it the big one and cut throat gestures? Utter bellends. Yeah sounds like them.
View From The Top Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 Yeah sounds like them. They were a couple of rows directly in front on me. Sh*t trainers, cargo shorts and check shirts with the one on their right looking as if he was auditioning for a role as a Dingle. Scruffy, pathetically gobby & the use of cut throat gestures but they had the look of those that would cr*p their pants & leg it at the first sign of mither. Sour Mash Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 Dont think the location helped. Bottom tier bent around the corner of the pitch, effectively splitting our support. Probably the worst place to watch football and get an atmosphere going. True. Didn't think much of the view either.

sandwichsaint Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 Soooooooo glad I didn't get tkts! Sounds (and looked) awful!! Good work agent Morgan tho. I'm guessing Wenger would have had a look in his black book after the game and carefully written 'Non' next to 'Schneiderlin?'.
pingwing Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 True. Didn't think much of the view either. That was severely hampered with the pitch being 3 foot higher than the bottom row of seats. Meant that the other end of the pitch was near enough impossible to see, even at the 4th row standing up I really was struggling to see what was going on the other end. bender Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 Trust me, with all the new and current players having a solid week of training (not 2 days like this week) we'll be a different team next weekend. We were all waxing lyrical (as were all the pundits) about how great we played against Manure and how we dont look out of place in the Prem. Jack Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 I think we'll be fine once we get going. No easy games, but we'll hopefully have learnt some lessons from these. I fancy us to pick up a win vs Villa.
captainchris Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 Gazzinga will almost certainly make his debut v Villa, can't see how Kelvin could possibly be in contention after that horror show, as grateful as I am after all he has done for us. Has anyone signed Craig Gordon yet? If they haven't, Nicola needs to get on the phone PDQ if he is fit. Fox can be loaned out, I'd rather play Richardson at RB and Clyne at LB, or give Seaborne or Shaw a try at LB, he's been consistently the worst player in the first 4 games. Better from Fonte today and by far our best defender and Yoshida kept going well after making the error for the third. If Kelvin is in goal next Saturday at the start and Fox plays, we might as well take the parachute payments now. You can't help but fully agree with this post........Why on earth do our management continue to ignore the facts though - why is this??? Why would you continue to play players who are most definitely not good enough - it defies logic?
gammon cheeks Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 Actually, based on today's performance I'd say Yoshida and Fonte are good enough, based on the other 3 games I'd add Clyne to that list. We need a new Left Back and Goalkeeper. Yoshida good enough ? I like to see how you come to that conclusion on yesterdays game, as i thought he was pretty poor and all over the place at the back . He must also be one of the smallest centre backs ive seen .

Why would you continue to play players who are most definitely not good enough - it defies logic? Fully agree, really? Do you really think throwing in a centre back who didn't look particularly good in the championship as a left back in the premier league is a sensible move? Or what about a 17 year old left back who has never started a league game that most people seem to have decided is th new Gareth Bale, despite only a few hundred fans actually seeing him play? And do you 'fully agree' that if Davis and Fox start on Saturday we should just accept relegation, as was suggested in the post you fully agree with? He was having to deal with a fox who had gone walkabout at lb... Hardly fair to judge him when he had exactly the same problem as Jos (covering 2 positions at once). He did also have a decent crack at an overhead kick which is alway fun
Saint_Randell Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 You were on the wrong side and missed out "you have a nose for stabbing geese" That was funny though. shurlock Posted 16 September, 2012 Share Posted 16 September, 2012 Yoshida looked much better as the game went on, bailing Fox out a few times. By the end, he was looking more than useful. That said, most of their attacking play went down our right in the 2nd half.

We had about 3,000 up there, and made a non-stop racket all night, though in hindsight I wish we hadn't sung "Harry & Jim are Red and White" for about half-an-hour. dellboypete Posted 17 September, 2012 Share Posted 17 September, 2012 Surprised nobody has really mentioned Gervinho & Cazorla for arsenal. These have got to be two of the best players in the premier at the moment. Gervinho was unplayable and was so frigging quick he caused so many problems for our back four, And Cazorla - first time I've seen him. For such a small guy he was outstanding. These two were far far better than anything manure had to offer and I was at mcity too when I thought that they had a decent midfield - it will take a good side to beat arsenal. To be honest I'm still upbeat about our chances this season. We are not going to play a team the quality of arsenal every week and we have shown that we can match the mank clubs and lets be honest, we should have wrapped up the game against wigan in the first half. I just hope that the team doesn't get too down hearted, but the short time that Ramires was on the pitch made me realise that we could have a real gem there and if he can link up with morgan and llanana we should be making many more chances. Saint Garrett Posted 17 September, 2012 Share Posted 17 September, 2012 Cazorla, Gervinho, Podolski and less so Chamberlain, completely tore us to bits with their fluid movement and pace, and also the little intricate passing. They will score against anyone when play like that, but we did give them the opportunity to do so.
The9 Posted 17 September, 2012 Share Posted 17 September, 2012 Thanks to the complete bell-ends in the row behind me for "you fcking black cnt" after the first goal and endless "fcking jews" "fcking jewish" over and over all match long, really made me proud to... oh no, wait. Never mind 6-1, THAT is embarrassing. How the hell the stewards didn't manage to pick them out God knows... As for the Theo chant, I had assumed it was to make the point to Chamberlain that we were only still holding one of the two of them in any esteem.
