I see Alpine is here. Wallowing in misery and predictable moans about how we should have strengthened our defence I'd imagine. Don't think I'll be back as I'm not sure I can remain polite.

I know Alps can be overly negative at times but it's wrong to beat him with a stick over the points raised about our defence, it's a damned joke that we didn't bother spending a decent amount of cash strengthening our defence.

Let's be realistic. Every year in the premiership we always used to get a tonking from someone.

I'm as disappointed as the next Saints fan, but let's not go into a blind panic.

Would you sooner be 4-1 down away at Arsenal at half time, or nil all at home to Walsall?

We've just been spoilt in the past three seasons by winning more than we are used to. This makes getting a spanking hard to take, but it wont be the last one receive this season.

I was expecting to be bottom after 4 games, as most of us were. We were hoping/expecting to have more than 0 points, but our points will come.

Just not today.

I agree with points of what you say, but let's not blindly accept a thrashing here. I'm pretty sure the management and players wouldn't.

I also don't quite get the ''we were in L1 a few years ago'' argument. We were, we did well to get back, so now let's make a good fist of staying here.

I think the fixtures were unkind, but possibly, if we look at the end of the season we can say they were ''kind'' as our run in is incredibly favorable.

It would be wrong if he didn`t do it about a million times...

It's far to early to say but how long long would you give Adkins? If we're bottom at Christmas is that too long?

I think what matters is where we are in relation to the teams around us - if we are within 2 or 3 points of 16th place it's a different situation to being cut adrift. ( Assuming that is that the next 3 months pan out as Alps predicts ).

I'll ask the question again. Could the £12m spent on Ramirez have been better spent elsewhere?

From what I've seen it could've been spent pretty much anywhere and it'd be better than what I'm watching.

The back 4 and the keeper look ****ing awful. We all knew we needed to strengthen in these areas. We haven't and now we're being punished for not doing so.

Adkins has got his tactics wrong... again! He's out of his depth in this league.

I don't think it was ever a case of it being ''spent'' elsewhere, it was available but the targets weren't - for whatever reason.

.... feck arse bollix... well might go and do the gardening...

Whatever you do - DON'T do that FC. I went and did twenty minutes gardening when we were 1 nil down - if you go gardening now, this could be the worst defeat ever.....!

I am not calling for his dismissal, but I am predicting relegation now due to being so far adrift by January.

Your comment was unnecessary. The texter is correct though about the defence. Reading tore them apart, FFS.

Calm down dears. It was clear the first 3-4 games were going to be extremely difficult - so stay with the program and try to enjoy the next chapter in our history.

Absolutely right! The only game I thought we'd have some chance was Wigan. It doesn't matter what the score is today. We Have played well against City and Utd. Arsenal was always going to be the bigger test. Get over it, regain some respectability and move on to the next match.

Considering we can get relegated and promoted next season within the "5 year plan" I don't think he'll get sacked at all.

This is very true - and something that many seem to have forgotten about. I know it's not the best scenario, and survival this season is preferable - but it we go down, it isn't the end of the world.

I agree with you this team is a lot inferior to the one relegated in 2005

I doubt many of today's squad would have got into that one

Maybe, maybe not. Stupid question to ask when the bloke has only been on the pitch 5 minutes. Stupid question even if he had been on the pitch for 5 matches.

Two own goals in one match and a 1st half injury to our centre-back.

The most annoying goal imo is the one which beat Kelvin at his near-post. That is the second one of those he has let in in 4 matches - that is pretty poor and he doesn't usually get beat there.

Would be sorry to see Adkins go. Feel it's his nappy changers such as Reid who need to move on. Can see Harry Redknapp doing a good job as Head of Football Development and Support at Southampton and advising Nigel thru this first season in the Premier League. Not popular but honestly believe this calls for someone of Harry's knowledge of the game.,

As you are so confident of this, i suggest you place a large bet with a bookmaker

and you could be doubly happy come May

If I'm really honest with you, I think he's looked out of his depth and lower-league in most of what he's done this season. I love Kelvin, massive fan of him and he's been a big reason as to why we're here - but I wanted to give him a chance, I thought he'd give it a good crack - but alas, that's not seeming to be the case and he looks totally out of his depth.

Alpine in moaning shock! I truly hope you are happier in real life than on this board......you are the most miserable sod I have ever come across and are one sad individual. Life is way too short.........and Saints wills be OK. How the hell you can state they did nothing re. the defence in the off season in a joke - we bought 3 players.

Up the Saints and get lost the bed wetters!

ART this is wrong on so many levels, have you been on the whacky backy or something?

Rameriz has fitted in seemesley to our way of playing in the final third by the way.

But we still lack that ''explosive'' element in the final third.

Am likimg what i ser of him
