RonManager Posted 16 December, 2012 Share Posted 16 December, 2012 GusTheFox @GusTheFox Top lad. Watching Bradley Wiggins beat the **** out of a swan with his bike pump. You'd think he'd have bigger fish to fry at the moment.
Hatch Posted 17 December, 2012 Share Posted 17 December, 2012 Bet the BBC are glad they went to the effort of getting Lennox Lewis to present the award. What a chopper and by a stroke of luck, they had the 3rd place trophy on hand in Miami to award to him, despite the fact that the 'live' phone vote finished just minutes earlier. So presumably, they must have had a 2nd place and a winners trophy on hand in case he won, and also 3 trophies available for both Hoy and McIlroy who were also both overseas. Not to mention, a top 'Sports celeb' on hand to award the trophy to them. I demand answers.

dinger Posted 17 December, 2012 Share Posted 17 December, 2012 (edited) Jeez, that team award was an embarrassment. By what stretch of the imagination are a multi-disciplinary collections of participants who don't know each other, who performed different sports in different places, on different days, a team? And most of them didn't deserve the recognition anyway. Some of 'Team GB' were rubbish! What about the ones who were disqualified from their events? What about the 4x100m boys who dropped the baton; do they deserve special recognition? Might as well cop out entirely and declare sport the winner. It was explained this morning that they had replica trophies for each contender who wasn't able to attend the event - just in case!

Couldn't be bothered watching the programme as knew it would be full of endless over the top sentiments about the Olympics.
