Thedelldays Posted 9 September, 2012 Posted 9 September, 2012 Have we ever won up there other than Kevin Davies wonder goal?
View From The Top Posted 9 September, 2012 Posted 9 September, 2012 Anyone found any good train deals? Booked mine ages ago with London Midland, so yes but as I live in the North Midlands it's easy for me. Just booking Liverpool away as well!
Griffo Posted 9 September, 2012 Posted 9 September, 2012 Booked mine ages ago with London Midland, so yes but as I live in the North Midlands it's easy for me. Just booking Liverpool away as well! Apparently Liverpool may still be moved for tv.
View From The Top Posted 9 September, 2012 Posted 9 September, 2012 Apparently Liverpool may still be moved for tv. If the do I'm £12 down. Can live with the loss!
Orange Posted 9 September, 2012 Posted 9 September, 2012 Anyone found any good train deals? 25 quid return on EastCoast.
Lets B Avenue Posted 9 September, 2012 Posted 9 September, 2012 Have we ever won up there other than Kevin Davies wonder goal? March 1967. Eric Martin's debut. Chivers 1-0. April 1974. The day we got relegated. Channon, Osgood, O'Neil 3-0. I was at those 2.
oldsarum Posted 10 September, 2012 Posted 10 September, 2012 1 -0 Glen Cockerill days in March 92 days after the ZDS Final, where we took over 30,000. I was there among the approx 150 saints fans present at Goodison
LGTL Posted 10 September, 2012 Posted 10 September, 2012 Does anyone hold much hope of Saints actually telling us how much these are going to be?
Joe Kirkup Posted 10 September, 2012 Posted 10 September, 2012 The lower Gwladys for home fans is £32 so thereabouts I'd have thought
saint_bert Posted 11 September, 2012 Posted 11 September, 2012 Im assuming we won't have the drama trying to get tickets for this like we did for Arsenal? Hope not, looking forward to this one.
saints_is_the_south Posted 11 September, 2012 Posted 11 September, 2012 Im assuming we won't have the drama trying to get tickets for this like we did for Arsenal? Hope not, looking forward to this one. Not a chance. We'll take about 1K max to this one I'd have thought. Certainly never used to take many to Everton in the past. £35 for the lower paddock, £32 for the upper part of the lower tier. That is confirmed (by Everton's OS). Be nice if Saints could have the courtesy to inform us though, and of how many tickets we have been allocated. Guess that is asking a little too much.

Good to hear we're not expecting such a scramble, was hoping to wait until the weekend to buy tickets for this. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/everton-allocation-confirmed-363566.aspx
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 13 September, 2012 Posted 13 September, 2012 Those that have been before, is it really that much of a pig to walk from Lime Street? I really cannot be bothered with connections once in Liverpool.
RonManager Posted 13 September, 2012 Posted 13 September, 2012 Those that have been before, is it really that much of a pig to walk from Lime Street? I really cannot be bothered with connections once in Liverpool. 2.5 mile walk. No problem.
Shroppie Posted 13 September, 2012 Posted 13 September, 2012 Anyone found any good train deals? £12.50 return. From Shropshire. It's just a quarter of the distance to St Mary's for me.
Sour Mash Posted 13 September, 2012 Posted 13 September, 2012 Those that have been before, is it really that much of a pig to walk from Lime Street? I really cannot be bothered with connections once in Liverpool. Get a cab. Often have no choice but to walk it back though.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 13 September, 2012 Posted 13 September, 2012 2.5 mile walk. No problem. Cheers - footballgroundguide.com makes it sound like something that should only be undertaken by olympians.
View From The Top Posted 13 September, 2012 Posted 13 September, 2012 Those that have been before, is it really that much of a pig to walk from Lime Street? I really cannot be bothered with connections once in Liverpool. Easy walk. Stop for a pint on the way. That's our plan.

JRM Posted 14 September, 2012 Posted 14 September, 2012 Get a cab. Often have no choice but to walk it back though. when i was up there a couple of years back and did the Fulham game seemed they have improved the bus service after the game with loads lined up going back into town, was quite a small crowd that night though. cab from Lime St was really cheap, about £6 between 3 of us, definitely the best way to get to the ground in my opinion and have a relaxing drink in town or Albert Dock

Griffo Posted 16 September, 2012 Posted 16 September, 2012 Are they going to check everyone's tickets? Surely there will be space to walk down to the paddock..
pap Posted 17 September, 2012 Posted 17 September, 2012 Will be going to this. Be rude not to, given that the ground is only 2.5 miles away from my gaff. Going to be going out for a few scoops. Up for bumping into a couple of SaintsWeb peeps too.
Joe Kirkup Posted 17 September, 2012 Posted 17 September, 2012 Making a weekend of it, going up Friday, game sat then Ian McNabb gig on a ferry in the mersey. Any ideas what to do friday pap?
Nexstar Posted 17 September, 2012 Posted 17 September, 2012 Paddock now showing as sold out online, apparently still 30-odd for that section available from the ticket office though.

Going to be going out for a few scoops. Up for bumping into a couple of SaintsWeb peeps too. Geting into Lime St at quarter to 12. I want tos pend a bit of time in the city center as I haven't been there for over 20 years, any sensible away fan/family friendly pubs you know of? (I will have my teenage son with me)
pap Posted 17 September, 2012 Posted 17 September, 2012 Making a weekend of it, going up Friday, game sat then Ian McNabb gig on a ferry in the mersey. Any ideas what to do friday pap? Er, depends. Two main areas of the city. Concert Square skews toward the 14-28 crowd, is replete with fit underdressed women. Mathew St is for about 28 upwards. Albert Dock is also worth a go, but it does tend to attract a LOT of people if there is a big gig on at the Arena. If you want to do something more cultural than drinking, there are a load of theatres ( Liverpool Empire, Playhouse, Everyman ). Also a load of cinemas, including a very civilised one that serves pints ( FACT ). Give us a few more specifics ( what you actually fancy doing, sort of music you're into, etc ) and I'd be more than happy to provide specialised advice.

(I will have my teenage son with me) First, you've got to check out The Crown. It's on your left when you come out of Lime St. Nice old Victorian pub with nice high ceilings and some very impressive interior work. I'd plan on making Liverpool One your lunch spot. Very family friendly, bars and restaurants, etc. Can be a bit pricey, depending on where you eat, but there are a couple of buffet restaurants there, including a Red Hot, so you're sorted for that. There are Wetherspoons etc nearby ( one in Whitechapel called the Welkin ) too, and I've never had any bother taking my kids in there. Mathew Street is right next to the Welkin too. Can't say all of the bars will let your nipper in, but most will, and aren't massively policed at that time of day anyway.

I think we'll give Concert Sq a miss, Mrs JK wouldn't be too happy with me ogling all the women. I've been to Goodison and Anfield but never spent any time in the city, I suppose the Cavern needs to be done - is it open on a Fri night for a drink? Sat will be at the game then just drinking in the evening abd got all day sun til the gig in the evening. Music is always a good win for me and the mrs so anywhere that has live bands would be welcome Cheers
Saint Garrett Posted 18 September, 2012 Posted 18 September, 2012 Put this on the main board but........ I am going up after work from Basingstoke, (probably around 4/5pm), and coming back on Sunday evening. Would be open to lift sharing as I'll be heading up on my own. PM me if anyone is interested.
Joe Kirkup Posted 19 September, 2012 Posted 19 September, 2012 Anyone want to swap their lower bullens for my paddock ticket?
mikesfc7 Posted 20 September, 2012 Posted 20 September, 2012 Anyone know what parking up there's like? Probably going to end up paying to park at Queen Square as its by The Welkin Wetherspoons and taxi it to the ground
BlakeySFC Posted 21 September, 2012 Posted 21 September, 2012 My ticket just says 'Visitors Lower' Does that mean Paddock or Lower Bullens?
dickyhale Posted 21 September, 2012 Posted 21 September, 2012 My ticket just says 'Visitors Lower' Does that mean Paddock or Lower Bullens? Same as mind just say Lower Visitors Block LV4 row 13 l did order Paddock online.
Lets B Avenue Posted 21 September, 2012 Posted 21 September, 2012 Paddock was £35. Lower Bullens £32.
Jimbo Posted 22 September, 2012 Posted 22 September, 2012 Never been to Goodison before...vague plan is to get to Lime St, then take in a couple of watering holes en route to the ground. is it far? any suggestions?
SuperMikey Posted 23 September, 2012 Posted 23 September, 2012 Anyone want to swap my 2 tickets in the Lower Bullens for 2 in the Paddock?
dellboypete Posted 25 September, 2012 Posted 25 September, 2012 My daughter is driving over from York - leaving around 10ish and can offer a lift there and back (share petrol etc) if anyone in the York area or somewhere on route is interested.

dellboypete Posted 26 September, 2012 Posted 26 September, 2012 Is she fit? Extremely! She's doing the Gt South Run on the 28th Oct and has to get from portsmouth to SMS immediately after (but I don't suppose she's running)!!

Probably going to end up paying to park at Queen Square as its by The Welkin Wetherspoons and taxi it to the ground That is a good plan. County Road is mental enough on a normal day. Teeny side streets, etc.
pap Posted 29 September, 2012 Posted 29 September, 2012 Right, heading into town in about an hour. Any word on pubs?
SuperMikey Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 Right, heading into town in about an hour. Any word on pubs? Obviously too late now but we were drinking in The Arkles.
pap Posted 30 September, 2012 Posted 30 September, 2012 Had quite a good day of it drinking wise. The only real mis-step was going to the Welkin, which was just full of people stuffing their faces. Stopped off at Flanagan's Apple for a bit, then headed up toward County Road. The Wetherspoons just by the ground was a good mix of home and away fans, decent banter. Walked back past Anfield, jumped a taxi and ended up in the Shiel, a place I have been meaning to visit for some time. Snoring on the couch by ten, though
