These quotes cracked me up!. "The one thing we are very concerned about is that everybody will want to make a buck out of him. “When you are hot property, you are hot property. “He doesn’t get paid for us and is on non-contract terms. and then he goes on to say. “The fact is we would like to get a friendly out of whatever happens – if he decides to move on – as well as some recognition and, maybe, a small donation towards our new changing rooms.”
The9 Posted 7 September, 2012 Posted 7 September, 2012 Has he got a dad or a son with the same name as him ?
VectisSaint Posted 7 September, 2012 Posted 7 September, 2012 Has he got a dad or a son with the same name as him ?Would he be harry Cornick Junior Junior? [bTW its Connick, close but no cigar]
alpine_saint Posted 7 September, 2012 Posted 7 September, 2012 Would he be harry Cornick Junior Junior? [bTW its Connick, close but no cigar] Damn, beat me to it, I was about to start singing that song from When Harry Met Sally.
Hatch Posted 7 September, 2012 Posted 7 September, 2012 Thanks for explaining the joke, anyway... I was going to post a similar 'joke', but using the title of ones of his hits. But then realised I didn't know any.
maysie Posted 7 September, 2012 Posted 7 September, 2012 Great article by the Echo there - exactly who is Kemp and why should we listen to him?
alpine_saint Posted 7 September, 2012 Posted 7 September, 2012 Thanks for explaining the joke, anyway... If he does sign and he makes it to the top, it will make a superb terrace chant.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 7 September, 2012 Posted 7 September, 2012 Would he be harry Cornick Junior Junior? [bTW its Connick, close but no cigar] It had to be you!
Saint Charlie Posted 7 September, 2012 Posted 7 September, 2012 So Stoke sign Micheal Owen and we get a 17 year old unproven player from Dorset. Sounds like a Cortese signing IMO, cheap, unknown option. We had the chance to get Jarvis FFS.

Saint Charlie Posted 7 September, 2012 Posted 7 September, 2012 Whachyoutalkingaboutwillis ? We've just spent 30m big ones on our attack. Good to see we havent lost sight of whats on our doorstep. Don't know much about this player other than he goes to my old school but clearly Pulis has had him watched as he still has a family base in Christchurch from his Bournemouth days. No harm in Saints taking a look...
Wade Garrett Posted 7 September, 2012 Posted 7 September, 2012 Great article by the Echo there - exactly who is Kemp and why should we listen to him? Graham Kemp, he's been around the Wessex League for years. Was a good player.
saint.tom.clancy Posted 7 September, 2012 Posted 7 September, 2012 I've seen him twice this season. Good player but nowhere near good enough for us. I'd say he could possible do a job for Bournemouth given the right coaching, and the fact he's still only 17. Probably stands out because of the divison he plays in, I've seen a lot better even just a league above.

We had the chance to get Jarvis FFS. owen was 17 once and from Cheshire, are you saying we need to get youngsters from Cheshire because ones from Dorset aren't good enough? At least "our Harry" is not a injury wreck (yet). Cornick may turn out to be the Dorset Michael owen (or should that be the Dorset Marian Pahars?)

Clotese needs to look to another market - this smacks of a Clotese signing IMO. Jarvis was a snip at 12m and he wouldn't have smashed up Benali's house either. Clotese needs to sort out a defensive coach not go swanning around painting another clubs changing rooms in return for a 17 year old tyro league player. IMO if we get relegated this season this thread is the reason why. And also the parking charge and the kit. FFS.

We need a stronger willed manager who will stand up for what's right for the team but unfortunately can only ever see yes men like Adkins or even Steve Kean being here under NC. Pardew was a man of principle and we all saw what happened to him. I won't be watching Soccer Saturday next week as I won't be able to handle the embarrassment of hearing Merson laugh at us for spending time and money on a kid who has only had a kick about on a boggy Christchurch pitch. FFS.

Dazza82 Posted 8 September, 2012 Posted 8 September, 2012 Playing against Fareham Town today in fa cup, i will be going down to have a look.
Window Cleaner Posted 8 September, 2012 Posted 8 September, 2012 (edited) Sounds like " no way we're going to miss out on another Charlie Austin" jobby to me. Why I've even invented a name for it, it's now to be known as BFS (Barcelona Fixation Syndrome) Edited 8 September, 2012 by Window Cleaner
Dazza82 Posted 8 September, 2012 Posted 8 September, 2012 Well he was on the bench today as they lost 2-1 to fareham town, He came on and done little.
Panda Posted 8 September, 2012 Posted 8 September, 2012 Well he was on the bench today as they lost 2-1 to fareham town, He came on and done little. He is rubbish then. Better move on and look elsewhere.
Dazza82 Posted 8 September, 2012 Posted 8 September, 2012 He is rubbish then. Better move on and look elsewhere. From what im told we havent even looked, all stuff from christchurch to increase interest in him
melmacian_saint Posted 8 September, 2012 Posted 8 September, 2012 This surely should not be considered a first-team squad but an academy recruit?
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 8 September, 2012 Posted 8 September, 2012 I play footy with David Legg, He seem to think we have looked at him
fish fingers Posted 8 September, 2012 Posted 8 September, 2012 I live in Christchurch, I've never heard of him. Can't be any good.
VectisSaint Posted 8 September, 2012 Posted 8 September, 2012 From what im told we havent even looked, all stuff from christchurch to increase interest in him If you read the article it actually says quite clearly that Saints have not watched him: "Saints have been in touch to say they are going to watch him over the next two weeks to see what they think of him"
melmacian_saint Posted 8 September, 2012 Posted 8 September, 2012 Speaking of Christchurch, we should've gone for Ryan Nelsen before QPR got their hands to him...

Hopefully there is more mileage in Cornick than in the remainder of Owens' career....
Saint Charlie Posted 10 September, 2012 Posted 10 September, 2012 Apparantly Bashley have beaten us to his signature. Their Chairman said he would personally paint the Christchurch changing rooms but NC wanted to send one of his media lads to do it.
The9 Posted 10 September, 2012 Posted 10 September, 2012 Wonder what a class player like Merson would have made of an orange bespeckled Scouser telling him to concentrate on his "mid third press" or that "pressure makes diamonds". I wonder what he'd think of a bespectacled Frenchman doing something similar ? IIRC he didn't get the chance to find out because Wenger got rid of him after a season, presumably due to his drinking at the time.
trousers Posted 8 January, 2013 Posted 8 January, 2013 @solentsport: #afcb have confirmed the signing of Christchurch 17 year-old Harry Cornick
Kingsland Red Posted 8 January, 2013 Posted 8 January, 2013 My youth side played Christchurch last season in the county youth league and Connick was in the side, useful but not a head and shoulders stand out.
