Relegation

What this thread reveals is how little confidence most have in Cortese, Adkins, the coaching staff and the players. But why? Despite all the negativity on here last year we were top two all year and went up... We have played very well indeed thus far this year and outplayed the top two teams for quite a bit of the respective matches and with better finishing the result might have been quite different. There is certainly no lack of confidence in our team so what's to worry about? We are most definitely not Derby or Sunderland or Wolves of a few years ago.

We have not had an ideal start but we'll be a better team for it and will be massively good enough to better Norwich, QPR, WHU and Villa.

For sure we are not going to get anything from the Emirates and the worriers will have another field day but half the table are only a point or two in front of us so a couple of good results will make everything seem different.

If you don't start believing your feelings will transfer to the team so man up guys, we'll get through this.

Remember when Spurs were bottom a couple of years ago and now they're in Europe

There is nothing wrong with discussing relegation, there is a fair chance it will happen. There is no point sticking your head in the sand.

There is nothing wrong with it' but for it to be the staple diet of SWF is pretty poor.

How is it "Head in the sand" to think we may not suffer relegation?

I haven't seen one post that has said "We will walk this league".

Relegation is a possibility but on the evidence so far I'd say we have a decent chance of avoiding it as long as the players keep on believing in themselves.

It's a very tough league, there are no mug teams anywhere - just look at what Wigan did to us - but likewise we are not a mug team too.

If fans reign in their expectations and stay realistic and patient then they aren't going to wind themselves up when things don't go as hoped.

From the day we got promoted my target was 17th and that still stands.

However even if we were to go down I think the champ is a great league anyway.

If we do go down we will still need to strengthen the defence - don't forget we kind of stumbled over the finishing line at the end of last season.

And our defence was the weakest link.

A new left back and 2 centre backs are needed whatever division we end up playing in next season. And probably a new right back if we go down as I can't see Clyne sticking around if we do.

Hopefully we'll bring in a Left back and a centre back in the January transfer window to give us a chance of staying up.
