Saint-Armstrong Posted 4 September, 2012 Share Posted 4 September, 2012 Says this Skate blogger.... http://portus-eg.blogspot.co.uk/ "Talking of escaping relegation I see our beloved neighbours once again spectacularly blew a 2-1 lead, this time at home against a below-par Man Utd in the last five minutes (or NorrisTime as its known in Pompey). To be fair the horse-fanciers played well but the habit of conceding goals (8 in 3 games) is a nasty one to develop and I feel they will struggle all season. Having spent more than £20m on improving their attacking options perhaps manager Nigel Adkins ought to have spent more strengthening their defence. As readers of my blog will have noticed I did point out recently about the possibility of SFC becoming the ATM cash machine amongst other things for their ultimate parent company, the Swiss-based Mali Group conglomerate. That idea took a step closer last week when Nicola Cortese, SFC chairman, became the sole director of all of the Mali companies as Katherina Liebherr and her fellow directors stepped down to leave the Chilworth-based chief holding the entire bag of Mali and Scum goodies. It means Cortese is now sole director of a dozen companies at Mali and SFC subsidiaries including the club’s UK parent company DMWSL 613 Ltd. If I were a scummer I would be more than a little concerned that one man, who has little or no accountability on making company policy or budget decisions, holds all the power." ....really? Hmmm. BARCELONASAINT Posted 4 September, 2012 Share Posted 4 September, 2012 I think the bloggers time would be better spent worrying about his own tinpot club and how they are going to survive not being turned into the next Tesco's!
once_bitterne Posted 4 September, 2012 Share Posted 4 September, 2012 Utter rubbish. Mali aren't our patent company for a start. They are owned by the Liebherrs but has nothing to do with SFC.
Avenue Saint Posted 4 September, 2012 Share Posted 4 September, 2012 I think it's quite clearly a positive that our main man has acquired more access and control over funds! How this stupid skate even attempted to spin it otherwise is laughable.

Also, it kind of puts to bed all the silly rumours and talk of NC and the family being at loggerheads and whoever it was that said the family didn't like NC and saw him as being a hanger on to Markus or whatever the phrase was. Daren W Posted 5 September, 2012 Share Posted 5 September, 2012 ATM = Cashpoint Quite how the writer can point out we've spent £20 million and refer to money going OUT of the club to MALI's pockets is beyond me.... Clueless, absolutely clueless... And don't think the irony of him worrying about one man having too much authority over the club is lost on me... Minty Posted 5 September, 2012 Share Posted 5 September, 2012 Fact is, the fans of ANY club that is in private hands must accept that their owner(s), have 'little or no accountability on making company policy or budget decisions' and 'hold all the power'. Fans will continually judge their owner(s) based on the information available to them, and the progress of the club. IF fans feel an owner is not acting in the best interests of the club then they act in whatever way they feel is most appropriate, from boycotts and demonstrations, to trying to set up takeover bids, to writing blogs and whining about it to the Internet. That's life. Ask fans of Liverpool, Man Utd, Newcastle and everyone else who has had a beef with their owner in recent years... We're in a decent position, most fans think that Cortese is doing a decent job, and no one is blind to think things are perfect or that we need never worry again. But at least we can judge the situation with the benefit of experience and knowing that our fans, whilst eager for success that Liebherr's investment will hopefully bring, are not blinkered to the consequences of the apparent 'success at any cost' strategy that our 'friends' down the road enjoyed without question when winning the FA Cup. Gemmel Posted 5 September, 2012 Share Posted 5 September, 2012 Cortese was appointed onto the Mali board sometime last year. I don't think any other statement could speak such volumes of the regard they (The Liebherr's) obvioulsy hold him. It is entirely possible that she (Katarina) may have stepped down, but I seriously doubt it - Ther would be some sort of formal announce from the Mali Group. But to suggest he is the only serving Director is quite obviously ********. The fact that DWwhatever number is not part of the MALI group and holds several other Director positions as well, tells you all you need to know. Worth keeping eyes open though - They won't be around forever.
Minty Posted 5 September, 2012 Share Posted 5 September, 2012 Worth keeping eyes open though - They won't be around forever. Absolutely. But we, as fans with a bit of common sense and nous, recognise this, whilst the Skate few try to scaremonger when they should really be concentrating on their own mess of a club. Saint Fan CaM Posted 5 September, 2012 Share Posted 5 September, 2012 It's a shame for the lad that he needs to make up stories to attempt to deflect attention away from his shambles of a club. This story is not worth the toilet paper it was probably written on.
