tajjuk Posted 13 September, 2012 Share Posted 13 September, 2012 Not exactly a premiership standard of cars in that car park! Not a bentley in sight! Back on topic, of the Big Teams, Arsenal are the one I think we can get a result from. They have had a good start but they are very inconsistent and don't take their chances (especially withut RVP) like Chelsea and the Manchesters do, they also have a home crowd that are quick to get on the teams back so I think if we can keep it tight for the first 30 mins and then build into the game we can get something. I can see none of the new signings starting, what with it having been international week and not having much chance to train with the team. Praises Nigel Adkins' Southampton, not Praises Nigel Adkins. The Echo feel the need to clarify that they are talking about Nigel Adkins' Southampton, just in case you thought they meant Ian Branfoot's Southampton. They could have just said Arse praises Saints and most of us would have known who they were talking about.

Matthew Le God Posted 13 September, 2012 Share Posted 13 September, 2012 I forgot it was impossible to get from Newcastle to London in 24 hours. They will have a plan of getting him ready for first team action again, that won't include playing on Friday and then travelling to London for another game the next day. He will be playing with the under 21's to build match fitness, there is no need to rush him back into the first team and risk further injury. trousers Posted 14 September, 2012 Share Posted 14 September, 2012 (edited) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19500230 Much was made of Arsenal's two 0-0 results before they went to Anfield and won. Now all of a sudden, after the three points at Liverpool, they look like good results. I would expect them to beat Southampton at home. Winger Santi Cazorla is a real player. They have pinched him. He is creative, two-footed and has everything about him. I do think Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski, who scored at Anfield, will also be good. Arsenal will be a force, there is no doubt about it. They have Jack Wilshere and Bacary Sagna to come back. Southampton have had some tough games. That's Manchester City, Manchester United and now Arsenal in the first four games. Crikey. I just hope they are patient with manager Nigel Adkins in what he is trying to do. He has achieved two automatic promotions and has signed some good players but they have had a real tough run. We will get a better indication of Southampton after 10 to 12 games this season. What Southampton will have learned is that you have got to be able to concentrate for 90 plus minutes because, while Championship sides will spurn chances, the top teams don't and just put you away. Prediction: 2-0 Edited 14 September, 2012 by trousers

The9 Posted 14 September, 2012 Share Posted 14 September, 2012 Whats the point of having a white away kit if we never wear it?? Ridiculous decision equally not to have the yellow on sale!! I pointed this out a few weeks ago, unless we wear it at Everton and clash or change the white shorts, which is daft anyway as the home shirt doesn't clash there, the first match we'll legitimately wear the white kit will probably be in December at Anfield. Which is also the ONLY time I can see when the white won't clash but the red will. So the all white kit will only be required once this season, even though they have to use it 8 times. Anyway, if anyone wants to buy a yellow Saints shirt I'm flogging a couple on eBay, 4 shirts which finish today, would be happy to deliver to someone at the Emirates tomorrow ! : http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/iwayellow/m.html?hash=item3cca9843ca&item=261097014218&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&rt=nc&_trksid=p4340.l2562

I hope we smash them 4-0 with JWP, Lambert, Schneiderlin and Lallana scoring and Shaw playing a blinder at LB. And whilst we are running circles around them with our academy players passing the ball around smoothly, AOC and Walcott are sitting on the bench thinking how it could have been playing for the mighty Saints in the Premier League. Saint Charlie Posted 14 September, 2012 Share Posted 14 September, 2012 Nobody could blame Chamberlain for leaving a newly promoted L1 club for the Champions League. If we haad been prem and he left then a bit more understandable, but how you can boo him I will never know, he is always very complimentary about Saints and played 100% for us every time he put the shirt on.
