Fitzhugh Fella Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 looks like a groin strain could cause him to miss the Scotland games. Maybe Shaw is going to get his Saints chance quicker than envisaged. I saw him at Stevenage and he did ok but not yet ready for the Premiership.
Smirking_Saint Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Shaw is injured I think, if true we are in the shizer
Colinjb Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Injured to avoid international duty I suspect.
Thedelldays Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Shaw is injured I think, if true we are in the shizer its ok, we have arsenal next
Cheese on Toast Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 I'd be happier to see clyne on the left and richardson on the right, than shaw or even fox in left back
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 3 September, 2012 Author Posted 3 September, 2012 Clyne can play on the left. Prefer him where he was - I prefer Fox to Richardson
Bearsy Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Walcott won't be happy. He was looking forward to that.
wireframebox Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 I'd be happier to see clyne on the left and richardson on the right, than shaw or even fox in left back Agreed. Only major advantage from Fox is decent set piece delivery.
Cheese on Toast Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Agreed. Only major advantage from Fox is decent set piece delivery. Yeah, but you want a left back who can defend... which isn't fox
krissyboy31 Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Clyne can play on the left. probably but not at the same time as on the right.
Saint Charlie Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Shaw was very ill this week, was in hospital at one point.
Dig Dig Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Shaw was very ill this week, was in hospital at one point. What's up with him?
Saint Charlie Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 What's up with him? Probably sick at being behind Fox! Seriously I'm not sure, he is probably ok now, but perhaps explains the shaky performance at Stevenage.
eurosaint Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Clyne can play on the left. Yeah but can he play on the right at the same time ??
Cheese on Toast Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Yeah but can he play on the right at the same time ?? Please see post #13
VectisSaint Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Agreed. Only major advantage from Fox is decent set piece delivery.Interesting though that we are not making use of Steve Davis for corners, he does a lot of them for NI.
VectisSaint Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Maybe Shaw is going to get his Saints chance quicker than envisaged. I saw him at Stevenage and he did ok but not yet ready for the Premiership. Neither is Fox
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Thank bloody God Moronic post, I hope nobody wishes injury on you.
Cheese on Toast Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Moronic post, I hope nobody wishes injury on you. I'm sure he'll live, and in the meantime, we get to play without him
S-Clarke Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Well, at least Wenger would have first-hand viewing of his new target.
Cheese on Toast Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Well, at least Wenger would have first-hand viewing of his new target. Didn't realise they were interested in Frazer Richardson
Bearsy Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Is Dickson still about or did we shift him out on loan or whatever?
Saint Fan CaM Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Is Dickson still about or did we shift him out on loan or whatever? Still about I think, but not a part of the 25 squad.
shane d Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Is Dickson still about or did we shift him out on loan or whatever? He played today for under 21s. Fox was there to for the first half, watching. Maybe stayed behind for physio?
Bearsy Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Cheers bros. I wonder if he's an option... it's been that long since I've seen the **** play I can't remember if he's any good! I spose that tells it's own story tho!
ART Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 How much longer before Jack Cork is back. He will give us several alternative options.
S-Clarke Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 How much longer before Jack Cork is back. He will give us several alternative options. If his rehab has gone as expected, he should be back in contention after the international break. We do miss an option like him on the bench for sure.
beatlesaint Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 I prefer Fox to Richardson Not as a defender surely ? Richardson does actually make an effort to mark his man and not leave acres of space for the guy to run into.
Saint Charlie Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Fox officially out of the Scotland squad, wonder how bad his injury is.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 For those who are wishing for Shaw, be careful what you wish for. Based on the games I've seen him play in, he has a long way to go before he is at a dependable level to cope in the Prem. In fact, I would go as far to say that Fox is a better option at this point in time and that's saying something.
SuperMikey Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 I'd have Clyne on the left and Richardson on the right. Two-footedness of Clyne should help us to cope with Arsenal's wingers cutting inside.
Village Saint Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Prefer him where he was - I prefer Fox to Richardson The idea of playing Richardson (yes really Richardson!) in preference to Fox suggests that someone has detached totally from reality. I am all for off the wall opinions but really.
SaintBobby Posted 4 September, 2012 Posted 4 September, 2012 Grrrr....does show how weak we are in depth. I quite rate Fox btw...but.....
skintsaint Posted 4 September, 2012 Posted 4 September, 2012 Agreed. Only major advantage from Fox is decent set piece delivery. Trouble is for Fox now is Ramirez is a specialist set piece taker so I imagine Fox won't get much of a look in if both on the pitch.
Leicestersaint Posted 4 September, 2012 Posted 4 September, 2012 Fox is a real weakness. What is the matter with Shaw??
dronskisaint Posted 4 September, 2012 Posted 4 September, 2012 Not sure that all the Fox haranguers are seeing the whole picture here - he adds a very sweet left foot to a lot of our movement going forward and to decide after three games (two of which he was up against as good wingers as he's likely to face in the PL) that he can't cut it is to have your 'see what you want to see' specs on. He's a good player finding his feet in the PL...like a number of the squad. I hear the hysterical baying that we haven't got time for him to do that but every promoted team needs a little time to get all the players on the pace and, in my opinion, we should be 100% supportive of allowing that to happen - certainly a player like Danny Fox given what he adds and has even this season added deserves better.

The problem is, first and foremost his priority is to defend and this is where he is found wanting. He's competent at rampaging up the flank, as was Harding.
Kingsland Red Posted 4 September, 2012 Posted 4 September, 2012 Wow, I suppose as Guly is likely to lose his place, Fox will become the target of the 'never happy' brigade on this forum. This somewhat depresses me as unlike the last two seasons when we generally won, we need to unite this season behind whoever wears the shirt. We need to win about 10 -11 games and draw 5-6 to survive. As we are told -Together we stand. COYR
Saint Fan CaM Posted 4 September, 2012 Posted 4 September, 2012 Fox is a real weakness. What is the matter with Shaw?? Panics on the ball probably because he does not have the experience yet to turn a Manager's instructions into consistent deeds in a Prem game. I am sure he'll come good, but not now.

Cheese on Toast Posted 4 September, 2012 Posted 4 September, 2012 I would seriously rather we still had dan harding instead of fox
derry Posted 4 September, 2012 Posted 4 September, 2012 Fox technically is a decent player but his awareness is poor. He focusses on play and doesn't keep a check behind him. He needs to keep checking his blindside even if nothing is there. ball watching is a habit and he needs to be coached out of it. It cost us goals v both City and Utd as he lost sight of his mark. Harding had a similar problem. It makes an otherwise decent player into a liability. It won't take the Premier clubs with the constant TV exposure long to exploit this flaw on a regular basis.
NickG Posted 4 September, 2012 Posted 4 September, 2012 worried m at times on Sunday.. ...however was best LB on the pitch! their weak one couldn't cope with Puncheon!
Saint Garrett Posted 4 September, 2012 Posted 4 September, 2012 I would seriously rather we still had dan harding instead of fox lol christ.
Cheese on Toast Posted 4 September, 2012 Posted 4 September, 2012 lol christ. Bring him in if he can play LB
captainchris Posted 4 September, 2012 Posted 4 September, 2012 Moronic post, I hope nobody wishes injury on you. Moronic reply to a harmless post.
