Fox injured according to Sky

For those who are wishing for Shaw, be careful what you wish for. Based on the games I've seen him play in, he has a long way to go before he is at a dependable level to cope in the Prem. In fact, I would go as far to say that Fox is a better option at this point in time and that's saying something.

Not sure that all the Fox haranguers are seeing the whole picture here - he adds a very sweet left foot to a lot of our movement going forward and to decide after three games (two of which he was up against as good wingers as he's likely to face in the PL) that he can't cut it is to have your 'see what you want to see' specs on.

He's a good player finding his feet in the PL...like a number of the squad. I hear the hysterical baying that we haven't got time for him to do that but every promoted team needs a little time to get all the players on the pace and, in my opinion, we should be 100% supportive of allowing that to happen - certainly a player like Danny Fox given what he adds and has even this season added deserves better.

The problem is, first and foremost his priority is to defend and this is where he is found wanting. He's competent at rampaging up the flank, as was Harding.

Wow, I suppose as Guly is likely to lose his place, Fox will become the target of the 'never happy' brigade on this forum.

This somewhat depresses me as unlike the last two seasons when we generally won, we need to unite this season behind whoever wears the shirt.

We need to win about 10 -11 games and draw 5-6 to survive.

As we are told -Together we stand.

Yes. Except Fox is rubbish.

Fox technically is a decent player but his awareness is poor. He focusses on play and doesn't keep a check behind him. He needs to keep checking his blindside even if nothing is there. ball watching is a habit and he needs to be coached out of it. It cost us goals v both City and Utd as he lost sight of his mark. Harding had a similar problem. It makes an otherwise decent player into a liability. It won't take the Premier clubs with the constant TV exposure long to exploit this flaw on a regular basis.
