VectisSaint Posted 3 September, 2012 Share Posted 3 September, 2012 Came back from 3-0 down to earn a 3-3 draw: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/saints-u21s-3-3-aston-villa-u21s-350446.aspx Seems to be a sad fact these days Minty, but no-one on here seems to be interested in talking about the u-21s or u-18s. I started a thread at the weekend about the u-18s who are top of their league after 3 wins from 3 but not a sniff. I suspect some don't even realise the u21s are now in a competitive league, and its not just the development squad any more. It used to be that you could have a decent discussion about the other teams on the forum, but these days it hardly seems possible to have a decent discussion about the first team without it turning into an argument between Alpine and Dig Dig/Glasgow. S-Clarke Posted 3 September, 2012 Share Posted 3 September, 2012 Sam Hoskins seems to be coming along quite nicely. like the look of him.
washsaint Posted 3 September, 2012 Share Posted 3 September, 2012 Good to see some of the younger fringe players get competitive games. Got to be good for their development...it'll be interesting to see how the likes of Reeves, Hoskins, Chambers, Sinclair, etc get on this year. mulletsaint Posted 3 September, 2012 Share Posted 3 September, 2012 Good results for both age groups against Villa. Not that I'm 100% on this but a Villa supporting mate keeps telling me how well they do each season at that level.
ant Posted 3 September, 2012 Share Posted 3 September, 2012 Just glad that they're getting properly tested on a regular basis now - can only be a good thing for their development and the long term future of the club.
BARCELONASAINT Posted 3 September, 2012 Share Posted 3 September, 2012 I'm amazed that Alpine has not hijacked this thread with his unique brand of doom and gloom spreading, after all he has hijacked every other thread! Excellent comeback by the younger players and totally agree with other posters that now playing competitive football this season will help their development tremendously. Nice to have positive things to read about for once about our club and players!
